Those 3 western central belt areas proving really stubborn and holding the Scottish figures back.

I think it's scandalous the attempts that have happened to try and discredit the AZ vaccine, seems to be having a negative effect in Europe as well with people refusing to have it.
Its good results for Oxford / AZ and Pfizer. It does help a bit that the Oxford / AZ results are better (at least for now) because we have a more sustainable supply. The people who seem to criticise the Oxford / AZ vaccine remind of the Main Stand moaners at Maine Road, who used to be on a player’s back regardless of their performance.

Scotland vaccination update:

1, 445, 488 total first doses - 13, 546 yesterday - down from 19, 299 - was 31, 416 last Sunday

37, 315 total second doses - 1836 yesterday - down from 2006 - was 220 last Sunday

The lack of vaccine supply was cited as the reason but will return to normal in 'coming weeks''. Though on questioning on this by the press she could not give promises as she pointed out they are waiting for information -from Pfizer I assume - on coming supply numbers.

96% of all 70 - 74 now vaccinated

They are now dealing with the next tier which is the largest of all - one million people in Scotland Nicola Sturgeon adds. Over 20% of all adults. So will take longer to get through.

She added they have decided to include in this group all mild to moderate cases of learning difficulty too not just severe as per guidelines plus all unpaid carers.

I trust England will do the same as both these should never have been excluded.

Even better than 94%???

It will not be 100% but its high that's all that matters.

It supports all the pre vaccination studies in the real world which is what matters.

It hopefully stops rival drug companies seeking to label AZ as not as good as our vaccine so buy ours and not theirs.

Which for the third world given the price differential is almost akin (unintentional I am sure) to commercially sponsored genocide as it will make a speedy vaccination programme in many poor nations impossible.
