thanks - I was wondering how close to exactly 12 weeks they were sticking. I have to wait until June sometime.

12 weeks from today was Jan 15th, I think - so only 16 days since AZ was authorised.

If your first is via one of the big centres like the Etihad you usually seem to get your second date with the first on the little card they hand out to remind you when you had the first one and which type it was.

The smaller ones seem to leave that blank.

You do not have to go to the same place twice afaik and you might be able to get it a few days before or after the 12 weeks if choosing.

But I doubt they will want to be doing it more than a a few days either side of the 12 weeks unless there are medical reasons that prevent this. As that has been stated as the optimum time for efficacy.

My stepfather had his yesterday 10 weeks and 5 days after his first. My daughters was 11 weeks exactly. I think it varies.

That makes sense to me, I half expected them to aim for 11 weeks, to allow for a bit of slippage. I suppose that may have come in as the numbers increased, but it was easier (and more sensible) to give fixed dates in the early stages.

Where I got a first jab wasn't available for a second one as they weren't booking past April, but the website forced me to make a second booking when booking the first one - I've got one, but it's not easy to get to, so I'll see what happens come June. Certainly the second booking date choice wasn't limited to one specific day.

I agree that going much past the 12 weeks seems like a bad idea.

They didn't give me a card after my first one at the local place

booked 2nd online at Etihad though

Some got a little sticker badge to tell the world you had been jabbed. I never got one of those too.

Mine was at a medical centre within the practice I am registered with so I guess they had all your records anyway.

Scottish data:

6 deaths - was 4 last week

285 cases - was 414 last week

1.6% - was 2.0% last week

168 patients - down 6 on the day - was 215 last week.

20 ventilated ICU - down 1 on day - was 21 last week

Interesting J&J jab using same technology as Az seeing the same blood clots, even still in miniscule numbers

Stands to reason, contribution of the spike protein vector to the overall structure of the drug substance is small and so logic says it's adenovirus related.
