So why the fuck has everyone utterly failed with this?
They assume viruses are not too infectious when people are not showing symptoms. SARS is infectious when symptoms are not showing. Although this virus jumped species to get to us it is a not too distant relative of the common cold and that is neigh on impossible to contain.

A lot of trials work can be carried out using computer modelling and simulations, but where safety is concerned, there is no way of skipping live trials on humans.
that is what i mean, the human trials are on 1,000's of people, there are no short cuts on that, our head medical guy is saying a year would be amazing but it will be longer

I don’t want to add to Ric’s bandwidth troubles but a Coronavirus conspiracy thread could be a fun way to pass the time.
I think it may be an even more fruitful fishing technique on RAWK. The ever present tendency to victimhood along with the genuine misfortune they have suffered with the timing of this virus would make for much fun.

Ultimately we (as in the western world) risked it to try and keep the economy running.

It is worth remembering that the economy dropping also causes deaths too so it’s always a balancing act. Ideally, we’d have just closed our borders “just in case” and enjoyed being an island state for a while. We can’t because of the globalised economy and supply chain we are dependent on though.

Why do PHE and Boris Johnson keep saying that they will introduce the right measures at the right time? All the measures are needed now.

Sort the testing out. We don't just need numbers we need follow-ups. It's a lot to do. The University of Padua in Italy cleared a Northern Italian town of virus by tracing the asymptomatic carriers. I have just emailed the vice-chancellor of University of Manchester suggesting we do this. Why not?

As in some of the trials are focussed on putting the code into pre existing vaccines. That gets rid of a lot of potential complications and can reduce the amount of trials required. That’s what a couple of the American companies are focussing on.
Sorry but a new vaccine has to be that,a new vaccine, new human trials, new licencing,i will leave it there but just don't expect it for a year, other drugs are being looked at in the meantime to see if they might help

Surely you know not to just trust his judgement by now though? ;)

What qualifications and experience have you got to state that?

Why are you emailing the vice-chancellor of University of Manchester?

This is just so OTT.

he is testing my faith,i think we have it wrong and wasted time, for him to say they are surprised at the speed of spread of the virus seems ridiculous when we had time to see it coming and how it spread in china and italy,i was confident till yesterday
