you keep mentioning slack lockdown what lockdown do you think we should be under ? It feels like a lockdown to me I go out of the house for a run once a day that’s it. Shopping delivered that’s it. Isn’t that the same for most people.
It’s a less severe lockdown than Italy and Spain had, for example.

One local mayor was trawling the streets in his town in Italy shouting at people to get inside if they were out exercising or walking their dogs.

And dozens of other countries have been much stricter with incoming flights than we have.

This is going to be the "boring" bit. The figures get repetitive, things seem less dangerous because it's not spiralling out of control and the numbers don't have the shock factor they did at first. Each day this week we'll see 750-800 deaths, next week it'll be 650-700, the week after 500-600 and we will just slowly decrease until we hit the threshold where they'll open things up again.

And as things decrease, people will get more restless, go out more, be less careful with their social distancing and washing hands etc. and that will make the tail go slower.
According to whitty death rates will continue to rise and be the last thing to drop,so i'll stick with him,it is pointless guessing numbers

I mean, nearly 900 deaths isn’t great but I think the majority thought we were going to be topping 1,000 daily if not more after the bank holiday weekend.

Obvious caveat for these not being actual daily numbers & not involving care home etc etc.

Let’s hope this is the peak and we start dropping soon.
At the moment, care home and community deaths in England, Wales and NI are not included in the daily figures like they are in France so I hate to think what the full picture is.

Death rates and number of deaths is not the same thing.

But assuming Whitty said number of deaths, then no shit, nothing I just posted contradicts that. Obviously those have the biggest lag compared to # of cases, # of hospitalisations and # of ICU beds used.

Everything else has already gone down.

I am not asking what Italy have, what lockdown do you want in our country . You keep saying it’s slack.

as far as I can see , parks are closed, businesses closed. Streets empty and the police going around enforcing breaches with fines . We have people forced to stay in their houses , shops and businesses mothballing and breaches punished by police fines?

of course we will be going for 3 more weeks because that is what UK cobra will have agreed and just like with all previous uk cobra meetings , that wee little Nicole rightly insisted on being on, she will immediately call a Scottish press conference and leak the UK cobra findings for that day (as they apply to Scotland ) which is the same as the uk. Not missed a conference as Nicola . I preferred it when she did that comedy show with her husband.
Mrs Krankie needs to be told to shut up IMO

exactly. Lots of these figures don’t include deaths outside of hospital

italy and Spain who according to some are past their peak, are still getting 600+ deaths a day, 4/5 weeks after a lockdown

Two weeks ago I called out a poster who reckoned that by today we would be up to 50k deaths. I have no idea whether he /she will apologise as I put him / her on ignore but there are plenty on here who consistently being spouting complete bollocks for the past four to six weeks.

You are not counting the ONS figures are you?

For myself, and everybody I know it could not be more strict.
I guess the fact that I keep on hearing that young people in the towns are allowed to do as they please means that it is a laxed lockdown.
