COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I sometimes wonder if they sit down and think before they stand there and do their speeches. Take the metro. Who stands at the many stops monitoring passengers? How do you socially distance all the others who can't get on and have to wait for the next one? How long do they wait? An hour, two hours, longer? This process would have to be at every single stop. That's before we come to buses. It's not feasible.
People in the far east seem to do it OK. To not even try is pathetic.

My wife's best mate found a lump last week and has to go to local hospital and is shitting it. Her mother in laws next door neighbours hadn't been seen for a while and the bins left out and their dog walker went in and found the old boy dead in bed and his wife dead downstairs. He had corona and she had a heart attack. The only place they'd been was the hospital for an outpatient appointment

Dear me terrible news mate.

It seems they have a big problem with this at Leighton that is the second that I know have who went in there with an unrelated condition to be taken by Covid.
Just shows that you really don’t want to be anywhere near a hospital unless absolutely necessary.

Jesus, that’s awful.

"stay alert, control the virus, save lives"

That makes the UK strategy explicit. The UK is not seeking to totally suppress the virus. The discussion as to the best strategy will continue but if nothing else there is now no ambiguity as to the road which the UK has taken.
I wish Boris would come out and explain the concept of herd immunity to the British people. It’s been misunderstood or misrepresented as a choice between the economy and saving lives. This isn’t true. The lockdown is costing lives and crashing the economy is going to cost more lives in the long run than will be saved by an extended lockdown. Time to put these issues before the British people and treat us like grown ups.

You lot can't even social distance properly and play by the rules, so why the fuck should you be treated as adults?

No they will try and indeed public transport has been running all through the lockdown, albeit on a reduced service. It will be a different story though if thousands of workers start going back.

We had some bad news yesterday morning that the brother in law passed away in Leighton Hospital,Crewe. He had been in for nearly two weeks with terrible back pain, which eventually was found to be two ulcers pressing on his vertebrae.
We thought because of the nature of his rapid demise that it could have been cancer.
My wife spoke to her sister within the last hour and he passed away with this shit virus, which he contacted from somewhere in the 5 different wards he had been in.
She was allowed to go and visit him, fully gowned, with all the PPE.Our nephew phoned the hospital late last night and was told NOT to contact his Mum for 14 days as she was now under the self isolation system. He was devastated at the thought of not being able to give his Mum a hug,nor visit her at this terrible time. They also have another son and likewise the same situation for him.
We`ve already planned that Rex will be buried with just the immediate family being present and when hopefully all returns to normal (yes I know it never might) we will get together as one big family and give him the send off he deserves.
RIP Rex you really were a great bloke.

So sorry for your loss and my condolences to your brother in law’s family.

As bad as it is losing someone during this pandemic, it is then compounded by the fact that people are unable to comfort each other with a simple hug or reassuring arm around the shoulder. On top of that, numbers at funerals are severely limited.

I too will be attending a few memorials once this is all over to give those who have departed the send off they deserve but it’s small comfort to the families of the bereaved in their time of need.

I meant adopting far east safety measures on public transport.

Doesnt it just. Its all very well the NHS saying they are available and open for all non Covid issues, but right now it does seem you are taking an almighty risk even setting foot into one. Very worrying indeed.

Going forward I wonder if we will have to have totally separate Covid hospitals away from other NHS establishmnets.
