On a related theme, I did wonder if Hancock and Starmer should be making joint statements about staying in. Or just perhaps a broadcast by the Labour arty saying the same thing.

It’s a good point, difficult for an opposition party to be challenging government right now when the whole country needs to be united - but equally, governments should always be held to account.

Went into a local shop near me earlier this eve, only reason as because aldi morrisons and lidl all across the road was mega busy with a queue. So i bought some essentials in the shop and got to the counter.Small box of face masks priced at £4.99 each, the sort of masks id normally throw away after an hour doing building work then change to a new one.

I was seriously shocked and had a rant about ripping off people. His reply was we bought them online and china have increased the price.Like fuck i bought anything in that shop. keep the stuff and fucked off out, don't like anybody getting ripped off.... spesh in these dark times.

He was probably not bullshitting however. The sorts of masks I use for when I am doing messy DIY work like cutting flagstones for example normally go for less than £2 each and they were £10+ on Amazon, over a month ago.

Maybe mate, cannot remember what i normally pay at say screwfix for a pack, but these masks was the lowest grade. 30 in a box that was no more than 5 inches high, sell them all £150.

Have to be careful how I word this or it will get moved to the political thread. But I can imagine there are a few unsavoury characters who are more concerned about the economy than a pesky 25,000 dead, who are mainly old people

Im seriously beginning to think 1 or 2 on here are desperate for the figures to surpass elsewhere so they can say I told you so, fucking embarrassing how many people are either not reading the stats correctly or putting their own spin on it to suit their agenda.

I’m pretty sure the sense of satisfaction that anyone gets from being able to say ‘I told you so’ to those who denied that we’re not and wouldn’t ever be on the same trajectory as Italy is outweighed a million times over by the horror they feel when the see the devastation that’s going on in this country right now.

My own eyes would suggest that the majority are doing as instructed, but that a minority would never do as instructed no matter who was the government, so its not political, also some people are so desperate to "earn" they just don't give a fuck for those they are delivering too.

I live on a complex of apartments with a good view from a balcony, so I've seen deliveries come in all shapes and sizes, and again many are being very good, but a sizeable minority take no regard at all, and the things they deliver are just as likely to carry the virus into peoples homes, and I expect many don't think about the risk of a delivery, being similar to visiting a shop.
