Out of curiosity, how old are you all? Was he tested too? Could it not have been a false positive?
We are all 49/50, old school friends. Yeah, he was mandatory tested upon arrival in Oz which was the day after we finished golfing, hence he must have already had it when we were together. Not sure I understand the false positive remark, he had the virus as was poorly?

We seem to be getting very few backdated deaths now, I’m hoping this is a good sign that we’ve improved efficiency of reporting?

Solar panels in Manchester? You'd generate about 30 pence-worth a year.
Not true. Not as good as the Sahara but still pretty good with modern solar technology.
The CIS tower in Manchester is a good example of solar in action.

Well to be fair there are plenty who bemoan the lack of a bell, so looking at it as the harmless common activity that cycling in that way is then they are just being polite and alerting people that they are behind them. All harmless imho and not worthy of being mass labelled 'wankers'.

I would normally agree that labelling them wankers is a little harsh as indeed is clothes lining them off the bike, however I should point out that in order to comply with their request (frantic bell ringing whilst closing in at high speed) means having to vacate the FOOTPATH and squeeze oneself into the hedge full of bees and wasps, alternatively you could simply leap into the river where you would have an extra special view of the ducks and geese and even a bloody cormorant.

Dont even get me started on the prick wizzing up and down on one of those motorised scooter type things when you were supposed only to be out for exercise, a thundercunt on the level of the panic buyers.

The UK population is set to increase by 3 million within the next 10 years and pass the 70 million mark in the early 2030s

.. to think the UK population was 57 million only in 1990

we can keep on blaming infrastructure and more houses need to be built etc etc but sooner or later the bubble is going to burst

but s'pose that's a different debate for now.

About 90% of land is not developed. Of course, some of it cannot be developed and we will want almost all of the rest of it to remain untouched. I guess what I am trying to say is that we are not living cheek to jowl.

Regardless, there are a number of improvements that can be made to the transport infrastructure that would add a great deal of value. Not charging £80 (NB a discounted price) for a train ticket to get to Manchester on a near empty train on a Sunday morning would be a start.

If you don't use Oyster, it costs around £8 return for a two stop journey even in zone 3 and 4.

Like you said, it is going off at a tangent. Another my time maybe :)
