COVID Data Thread

Right that is it from me for a couple of days.

Have a great weekend and cheer City on this Sunday if Covid does not stop them from going well clear into 2022.

DEC 25 113,628 cases

DEC 26 108,893 cases

DEC 27 98,515

Data incomplete due to record differences between nations.

These are basically England only.

V DEC 24 which was 105,069 (England only)

All settings deaths 143 England today - presumably from over the 3 days

3 were also reported in Wales on Boxing day. 0 on the other two days.

No other data on deaths will appear before tomorrow.

OVER 320,000 new coronavirus infections have been recorded over the Christmas break, new data has revealed

Over the the last three days, a total of 321,036 people have tested positive for the virus.

On December 25, a further 113,628 cases were recorded and on December 26 this was 108,893.

Today, December 27, 98,515 cases were reported. But this figure could be a little bit lower due to the fact that all nations are not included in the total for the last few days and do not include Scotland or Wales.

And a further 147 people were recorded to have died in the 28 days after taking a PCR test.

There were no deaths recorded on 25 and 26 December, but it is thought that any that did occur will be added to the grim total in the coming days or weeks

Why is it that England can count numbers over a BH weekend but Scotland and NI are incapable of such. You would think that given the importance of such data they would have someone correlating and publishing the data.

England sees big jump in number of patients in hospitals

We're still picking apart the latest COVID data we've received from the government this afternoon.
The latest figures show the number of coronavirus patients in England's hospitals has increased from 7,536 yesterday to 8,474 today - an increase of 12.4% in a single day.
It is also the highest figure since 5 March.
Last Monday, there were 6,688 COVID patients in hospital - meaning the numbers have increased by 26.7% in a week.
Meanwhile, the number of patients in mechanical ventilation beds has risen from 758 yesterday to 776 today.
This is also an increase of eight from a week ago

The hospital numbers are disturbing as London numbers still rising two weeks into Omicron there. And North West rapidy rising towards London levels. Up over the weeend from 1008 to 1226.

Here are the London patients over the last 10 days - showing where NW will be going over the coming week.

1,5731,6661,8191,9042,0362,0972,2602,2952,4252,640

NOTE the biggest rise was today.

As it was in the NW - up from 945 to 1226 in the last 24 hours! Biggest rise in a day in the NW in a year.

The next week will be key to how well the NHS can hamdle this as Christmas is bound to increase the numbers.

I have been shielding for 2 years and had more visitors this weekend than in the rest of this year. That will be the same everywhere. Cases are simply dound to excalte.

There are different bank holidays across some of the nations.

The ONLY day between 25 Dec and 4 Jan when all four nations are reporting cases together with deaths and hospital data is on Wednesday.

On all the other days one or more or all of the nations (England included) are not reporting some data or no data.

They will all have the data but just not report it as England did not for the past 48 hours until today.

Wales is the worst - only posting hospital data on this Wednesday acrss the entire 10 days.

Scotland (with an extra New Year holiday) has just 2 days of the 10 with data.

Its shabby isnt it? Biggest pandemic in 100 years and they cant even release daily data.
