fucking Root
On a positive, that’s what you get when you don’t produce dead wickets hoping to get to Headingley 1-1 (that’s on the ECB) and give your attacking captain some variety in the attack, especially pace, as ever we can judge better when both teams have had a bat on it but if we can reduce them to under 250, we can literally go on the attack even if the pitch is bowler friendly
That’s where the ashes have gone. Totally unacceptable. We’d be on our way to being 3-0 up now if we’d have held of those13 drops and a missed stumping?!!? No wonder we’re losing. We’re making it far far fucking harder than we need.
The proverbial dolly, if I was coach and we where fielding, there’s no way players would be trotting out after lunch rubbing their tummies, they’d be out ten minutes early warming up on the pitch and readjusting to the light & conditionsThe issue has been our poor discipline. Dropped catches. Too many extras. We're averaging more off the bat than the Aussies as a team yet are 2-0 down! I think it's 60 more extras than Australia which is madness.
And as I type this another one goes down. So far we've managed to go on and take the wickets without those drops being costly, but it's simply not good enough. That was filth by Root there.
Along with the extras. 16 so far today. No use crying over spilled milk, but spilled catches in the ashes is a different thing altogether
Don't mind it me, I'm going to the 4th day at Headingley and was worried earlier that it wouldn't get past the 3rd day or would only allow 1 hour of play at best on the 4th day.No use crying over spilled milk, but spilled catches in the ashes is a different thing altogether
