That's a really good point. You know Moeen Ali used to always get one of the most expensive IPL contracts each year, even well past his prime.

This was because, whilst he wasn't the best batter or the best bowler, he was decent at both. So bowlers will definitely want to improve their batting to get the biggest contract

It may not exactly be "Bazball", but a run rate of 4 rpo in a test match is still not too shabby. 30 years ago, when Root would have been a whiny Yorkie brat, it would have been a rare occurrence.
 
Stoke retired hurt. His groin was troubling him. Right decision as we will need him to bowl.
