it was obvious last year despite the results that some players were at an end howver.Chill mate.
This team has come to the end of it's cycle, it's can't go on forever.
What's happening now i thought would happen last year or the one before that but they put their bodies on the line again and again and produced 4 in a row.
This season has caught up with the team. Players are constantly injured because of what they've achieved in the last 4 years. If we can limp it through to January and make a couple of signings then next summer recruit and recruit well we'll be fighting again but this season isn't going to get any easier. If we get top 4 we've done extremely well, that's all we can aim for.
We all need to step back and let this season be the transitional one for going again next year.
we have also been cryig out for cover for Rodri for two seasons as well so its no suprise to anyone that watches us regularly that as soon as he is out we are in trouble...
It is transitional I agree about that and Im very relaxed about the season as i have no expectations of this team achieving anything this year.
However it isnt wrong to call out the leadership team for being caught on the back foot. they get paid an awful lot of money to sort out what a lot of people have seen coming for a season or more.
For instance:
everyone raving about kdb coming back - some of our best football last season was played without him when he was out injured. ...his decline is obvious....if we dont sort that this summer we will have issues next season but sentimentality from the fans and club will take over...
Rodri himself said in an interview about excessive games and the risk of injury - low and behold look what happens and fans have been saying it for years...lots on here called out the signing of Phillips as not good enough prior to it happening....who would have thought eh?! - nothing done
Walker- everyone saw last year his form fell off a cliff - nothing done
Stones - has been injury prone for years - nothing done
The next one will be Haaland...he is running on empty - not replacing Alverez as soon as Bobb (who as clearly a huge part of our plans for the season) was injured is poor from the hierachy
Bringing back Gundo - such a poor decision - he is the past and should have stayed there - the old sayign, "never go back" in football is there for this reason
Kovacic - was supposed to supplement our midfield.....we are relying ona. player who is already 30 to help save our season - dont get me wrong he hasnt been a bad signing. -BUT its short term thinking from the club
