Dani Alves

And that's exactly why they're offloading Dani Alves right when they should, for 5 million too. If you go watch Juve's league games on fullmatchesandshows you'll see Dani Alves isn't all what you see against Monaco. The intelligence, the technique, the class is there but his physicality and pace are far from his old self in Barcelona 3 or 4 years ago.

I'm not against Dani Alves, I welcome someone like him in the team, he'll be a very valuable addition if he's brought in for rotation and for his experience but Pep should finish the signing of priority fullbacks for both flanks this week before they go to other teams. Since yesterday I'm reading that Chelsea are all over Sandro and are ready to pay big money. We should be working on Sandro and players like Sandro instead.

Since you brought up Bayern, go ask Bayern fans how they feel about Xabi Alonso that Pep took to Bayern. Ask if they care about Alonso's experience or if they all hated him because of how slow he was because of his age but how Pep kept playing him anyway. They all hate Pep with a passion for neglecting their defence and paying for it. Sam Lee and all other accounts said the owners gave Pep the greenlight to buy whoever he needs. I hope to see some serious business done this week with our first choice defensive targets.

I'm sorry but that's all complete shite, and there's no other way of saying it.

They are letting him go because he wants to leave, which is Juventus' policy. If Dybala said he wanted to leave, they'd let him, it doesn't mean they should let him go.

Secondly, I've seen plenty of Juve matches in Serie A & Copa Italia over the season, and to say Alves' pace and physicality has gone is just factually wrong.

but Pep should finish the signing of priority fullbacks for both flanks this week before they go to other teams.

This is just a painfuly stupid line of thinking. Just because the 2 year, £5m deal gets done before the 5+, £40m+ deal gets done doesn't mean one is prioritised, it just means deals move at different speeds.

Also, your last paragraph about Xabi Alonso is complete and utter bullshit, and you need look no further than the reception Alonso got when he retired. Not to mention, Guardiola never neglected the defence and never had full control over incoming transfers, something that every Bayern Munich fan knows, so they would never blame Guardiola even if the defence was neglected (which it was not). @Maldeika might be around to prove this wrong, Bayern fans hating Alonso is complete bullshit, not to mention the fact that Ancelotti played him almost as much this year (only 1 game less), so...do they hate Ancelotti and Pep, or just Pep?

To be honest, the absurdity of that last paragraph pretty much confirms your opinions aren't based in reality at all. The "Alves has lost his legs" was nonsense, the flapping about Sandro signing Chelsea was funny, the "why is Alves being signed before Walker goes elsewhere" was stupid, but the "Alonso is public enemy #1 in Munich" paragraph took things to Trumpian levels of alternative facts.

Just because news breaks about one transfer doesn't mean that all the others are being ignored although I agree we need to be careful about our left backs targets as other clubs are in the market too.

You're so full of it mate, it's funny to read you at times.

Go read Bayern forums, they have two of them, and they also have a plenty of them in reddit. They still hate him deeply for neglecting their defence, for his training methods injuring their players. Yes the reception Alonso got when he retired was probably in tears of happiness that he was no longer gonna play. They were all so happy that he was gone.

Instead of arguing here, you're a poster on reddit, go ask Bayern fans there, they even posted these things there many times. I wasn't giving much credit to what they said before because they're a spoiled bunch but if I see the same things being done here then I'll read their comments in a different light.

Yes and the difference is they would let Dybala leave for 100+m, Alex Sandro for 60-70m, and Dani Alves for 5m. Five.

I said I welcome someone like Dani Alves for everything he'll bring, as long as he's not our main fullback and we have a good one incoming. I also wish to see our other priority defensive signings done soon before they go somewhere else. Like London.

I hope so mate. I want us the get the best of these players so we don't keep looking for upgrades again.

Mate, they got Alves on a free last year. He's 34 and will walk on a free next year too. No club would pay more than 5m for him, it has nothing to do with quality.

With all due mate, judging how a fanbase feels by what's said online is a mug's game. The tinterweb seems to attract the moaners (probably because people won't listen to their shit in person)and from my experience at least isn't all that reflective of the general feeling amongst fanbases.

I suppose we should take your bullshit one bit at a time.

1) "They still hate Pep for neglecting their defence". How did he neglect it? He doesn't have full control over transfers, so it's not his to neglect, not to mention they had a superior defensive record in every season under Guardiola than under Ancelotti despite buying Hummels.

2)"His training methods injured players" - Funny how our injury record significantly improved, Aguero, Clichy and Silva having their first injury free seasons in years, and his record at Barcelona was incredible but it's his fault Bayern had injury problems - injury problems which still persist after he's gone.

It's almost like Guardiola wasn't the problem at all.

3)"the reception Alonso got when he retired was probably in tears of happiness that he was no longer gonna play". This is just so obviously not true that I don't think it needs to be proven wrong, No one gave Jesus Navas a full standing ovation for minutes after he made his last appearance.

4)"Instead of arguing here, you're a poster on reddit, go ask Bayern fans there, they even posted these things there many times." I am, and that's why I know you're completely wrong, because all of them think he was a great player a little past his best, but was very useful and none of them have ever expressed regret that he came.

5)Yes and the difference is they would let Dybala leave for 100+m, Alex Sandro for 60-70m, and Dani Alves for 5m. Five. Yes you cretin - because he's a 34 year old fullback they got on a free. It doesn't mean they don't want him to stay, it doesn't mean he wasn't integral to their CL run last season, it just means he's obviously a player with little transfer value.

6) I also wish to see our other priority defensive signings done soon before they go somewhere else. Like London. As stated above, and by absolutely everyone with a brain, this isn't a thing. No one is going "Quick, while Txiki is distracted with Alves, lets sign Walker for £45m overnight!"

I think I have to put it into my signature that I'm not against Dani Alves, as long as we have some priority fullback in mind and Dani Alves is here to rotate with him. Then he'll be a valuable addition.

Thing about Dani Alves and Juventus is they're renown for their defence, they don't play like we do. Our defenders play in halfway line, so we need defenders who are pacey when the opponents break and who have lots of stamina to play that way week in and week out. We saw how that burned us this season.

I laugh at them because they're spoiled and jealous but some of the things they were saying rings a bell when I read Sam Lee saying that a new defender isn't a priority because Pep wants to wait for Mbappe, when we have 0 fullbacks and 3 CBs + Kolarov. I'm sorry if I'm overreacting because I see reports about our rivals monkeying around with our targets.

Nobody has ever said we'd only be signing Dani Alves, so this is just a red herring. You preface arguments against him with "I'm not against him" then act frustrated when called on it.

Our defenders play in halfway line,

You mean the way defenders play at say, Barcelona? The club Alves played at a year ago?

Also, you do know Juventus often played him as an AMR, including in the CL final, right?

so we need defenders who are pacey when the opponents break and who have lots of stamina to play that way week in and week out. We saw how that burned us this season.

And that's why Pep seemingly wants Alves.

I don't know, ask them, maybe they're referring to getting knocked out every year by getting beat on counterattacks all the time? Ring a bell? Do you remember how miserable our fullbacks and defenders looked this season on these counterattacks? That's why we need first class, pacey fullbacks and defenders to play his game.

5)Yes and the difference is they would let Dybala leave for 100+m, Alex Sandro for 60-70m, and Dani Alves for 5m. Five. Yes you cretin - because he's a 34 year old fullback they got on a free. Yes, and I said I welcome Alves for what he brings as long as he's not our main FB and we get our priority targets for fullbacks.

6) I also wish to see our other priority defensive signings done soon before they go somewhere else. Like London. As stated above, and by absolutely everyone with a brain, this isn't a thing. No one is going "Quick, while Txiki is distracted with Alves, lets sign Walker for £45m overnight!"

I don't care about Walker. It could be Walker, Sandro, that Porto player I forgot his name, Mendy. I wanna see it done. I don't wanna see them go to rivals while we think they're 3 million too expensive because good fullbacks are rare and our rivals need them too, and that's not Walker. Who's that Porto guy that Spurs were gonna replace Walker with? It could be him too. I don't care.

Everytime I read about Sanchez and Mbappe I think "we have ZERO fullbacks and 3 CBs and Kolarov.
