Fernandinho won't start unfortunately...And Ederson probably won't either.

would it be of shock if he didn't officially sign for another week or two so he just does the medical and formalities before the pre-season starts, rather than jet in, jet out and back again?

Fernandinho is definitely a possibility alongside Paulinho. Think he's missed a couple of game under Tite but he was in there for most of 2016, it'll depend on his form and Casemiro's form. Paulinho tends to be a guaranteed start for Tite though.

Ederson is the tricky one with him already favouring Alisson if I recall correctly but there'll be a point when he has to pick a keeper that actually starts for their club, a good season from Ederson could get him that spot.

Obviously Jesus and Alves are pretty much nailed on to start for Brazil.

That's probably the smartest thing to do. Also raises the possibility of unveiling multiple players at once if we manage to sign Mendy and/or Sanchez in that time.

Nah, Casemiro is the starter, Fern's only played when Casemiro has been out, and even though he's captained Brazil, under Tite if Casemiro is fit he'll play.

Ederson is a better keeper, and will be performing on a bigger stage, but few coaches would change keeper this late on in a world cup cycle. Alisson has gotten them to first in the qualifiers, hard to just bin him after that.
