Alves has never worn 5. He wears 2 for Brazil. Wore 6 and 22 at Barca. Wore 23 at Juve.

Cant wear 23 at City it's retired. MVF RIP. #6 is Fernando's number. So that leaves 2 and 22 as the only numbers he has a connection to that are available to take. My guess is he takes 2...
