Mancini loves rotating his fullbacks/wingbacks. Loves it. I think we'll see Clichy against any pacy wing play and Kolarov more with packed defenses.

Exactly. It's a great move because it allows us to really use Kolarov to his full potential, and it also puts Micah in a position where he is more free to drive forward. Also, the BM consensus always seemed to be that Dzeko just needed the service, and it would seem that this would also help address that issue. I love that we are adjusting to what we have, and if we do sign Agger, it's not some crazy behemoth vanity signing, just a proven Prem solid one that makes the whole team work better. Weren't able to sign a wing? No problem, just line up five across the back and play to the strengths of your fullbacks who have definite wing-back ability.

I'm really excited about this new direction, and the fact that we are using a lineup that is almost entirely already gelled and settled in together. (And even if Bob does play a more traditional formation, Agger is still a great signing anyway... As much as I trust Lescott, there will be plenty of games to be had and the competition will benefit both young CBs.)
For me Clichy is the best lb in the prem and 2nd in the world after Marcelo, he should be starting every game apart from early cup rounds and maybe the odd home game against inferior opposition.

Alba and Alaba are better imo.

Re: Agger Bid

lots of talk on everyones favourite (twitter!) that an £18m fee has been agreed for him! coming from red dipper fans as well.

Re: Agger Bid

Hi , 1st post here !

I am not surprised to see city bid as you might have the best defence in the league but it also very thin , and an long term injury away from disaster , any team with big ambitions should have 3 proper CB's anyway

considering he's top 5 CB in the world for me , better than lescott , and our one of the last few world class players (who we can't replace with a player of his class), £22m sounds about right to me , considering he is also very injury prone

however i would have taken adebayor +15m but we seriously don't have 150k a week to pay for one player

Re: Agger Bid

Much rather get De Rossi and a couple of wingers in before going for another centre back. We have Savic, Kolo and Boyata still at the club plus Rekik if he doesnt go out on loan. If we got rid of Savic and Kolo then it would free up funds to get Agger but we dont NEED him now. Boyata is good enough to be a back up and Rekik looks good enough already so i hope we dont get him and focus on other positions where we are weaker.

Re: Agger Bid

Better player than Kolo, Boyata, Micah at CB and Savic therefore he improves the squad. Good move by the club.
