He's a **** no doubt, but i actually didnt think he was bad the other night...he claimed that city should have had penalties etc.

As a guy a little more neutral though, maybe i don't sit listening for anything that can be construed a certain way. There are a swathe of commentators who's backgrounds are at odds with their professional integrity as unbias commentary people, but i guess that cannot be helped. There are too many ex liverpool, UTD, arsenal players on the commentary teams unfortunately...but this is to be expected as they were the dominant teams in quite recent times.

Things will eventually change.

I didn't think he was being petulant, he was almost heartbroken and resigned every time we attacked.

He came across as a deer in the headlights for me, commenting like he couldn't comprehend the reality in front of him.

The penalty was a fine example. "That's not a penalty. Aguero dived" then it's pointed out it was Otamendi and his defense was "he's known for going down easy"...c'mon, show me the evidence of a single time otamendi went down in the penalty area diving. Then after 3 replays he eventually sees sense and chimes in with "actually yes, he has a hold of him, it's a penalty".

He had 3 other goals as offside on his initial comments before looking an idiot on replay, and came across silly when talking about the handballs.

Just not up for the job on the night tbh.

Have you thought that, from where they watch the game and before the benefit of a replay, perhaps it seemed like certain things may be offside etc?

I'm not getting drawn into a petty long winded thing with a bunch of fans who are adamant about the subject, but for me, and i consider myself a very fair and balanced fan of the game first and foremost, he wasn't that bad on the night.

Certainly i've heard much worse from murphy. Usually his scouse hatred comes through WAY more.

But back to the main point i'm trying to make, the motm award was completely fine. Its ok in sports sometimes to honor the losing team, espcially if there is a young lad that has done well.

Yeah, to be fair i've seen him go down very easily more than a couple of times...to his credit he doesn't roll around and mince it up though.

Well, he didn't say "Otamendi is known for going down for penalties", he said he was "known for going down easily". And, come on, he is! Aside from the infamous one at Everton, he also embarrassed himself in the League Cup game at Utd, and there was that time in the Champions League last year (I think against Monchengladbach) when he decided to throw himself to the ground under a challenge - their player then scored from it - rather than just heading the ball clear. Plus plenty of other times he's rolled around feigning injury.

Besides, Murphy then corrected himself and owned up to his mistake over the penalty call, which is more than I can say for Shearer.

And at really odd times. The swandive to the slight flick (Arsenal? Everton?) was dreadful, particularly for an Argentinian defender, a group who aren't renowned for being shrinking violets.

I was at the game so didn't hear all the pre-match hype about Billing. I thought he had an excellent first half and said to my son at half time he was the most impressive player in the first half. Several times he cooly kept possession, had great vision and with better finishing he might have had 2 assists.

In the second half he seemed off the pace. On the whole match Sergio probably deserved MoM, Garcia seemed to get better in the second half. I am not outraged about Murphy's decision. Billing could well be a future PL star. He is only 20

its just the BBC***s attempt to inject some romance into the FA Cup to boost its waning popularity so they get the TV rights again. They think its better to promote and praise the lower teams (i include The Scum in that bracket) over the big teams (not The Scum).

The kid played well in 1 half for about 20 minutes. the rest he was leggy and gave the ball away under pressure for the rest. If a match of the match is based on that, then Bravo was in the frame for it for actually making a save for once.
