David Silva's Armband

"Offended by everything and ashamed of nothing" If there was ever a phrase that describes Liverpool it's that one.

The thing I hate about this kind of thread is the one man up mentality. Simple if they want to complain , let them make fools of themselves. Let's take a step back and let them get on with it.

Silva of all people to take a pop at!?!?

So you just had to add to it.
What gets me is the amount of posters who come onto a thread saying it shouldn't be here.
If that was the case, there would be nothing to read.
If someone doesn't like a thread don't fucking read it. Simples.

Will ALL the Liverpool players be wearing armbands on the anniversary of Heysel...........NO

And where is that LFC fan who was on here saying the bricking of our coach was by " non match going fans " and you cannot judge " all liverpool fans by isolated incidents " .
Well you add up :- fighting at Lime st, abusing female City Fans, constant booing of opposition players, a facebook/twiter campaign for removing an armband.
And they ask us to show RESPECT !
YCMIU.

Quite frankly, who gives a fuck. There are some Liverpool fans who go out of their way to find something to be offended about. Someone yesterday twitted Yaya Toure and basically said "Not tweeting about Hillsborough today Yaya? #JFT96". So, giving him grief because he hadn't actually gone on Twitter and sent a tweet about the disaster. I'm sorry, I was unaware he HAD to do that.

Shouted him out about that one didn't I?!

50% of the threads wouldn't be read by 50% of the members

If true - unbelievable Jeff. A quote from a previously pulled thread: -

NEVER ACCOUNTABLE; ALWAYS OFFENDED

If ever there was a case of proof in the pudding, this is it.

Was wondering how LFC still mark the anniversaries of Heysel?
Genuine question.

Very quietly i would imagine.

I've watched the videos a few times now and i might be wrong, you know if your a game changer or going to be heavily involved in a game like this, that the cameras are going to be on you quite a lot,and someone somewhere is going to notice your armband has gone...you know SOME people will say shit about it and you'll get a slating in the media,so for me there is a genuine reason he's removed it.....my theory being....has anyone else noticed he removed it on 39 minutes?..........like I said, could be wrong.

One common theme regarding Hillsborough and Heysel could be embarrassment some felt regarding how their support would be perceived by other big clubs supporters. This was a time when macho football supporting had fans vying to be top dog, unlike today where live matches and instant TV are the norm back then very few games were live and TV highlights were relied on.Nottingham Forest had been allocated the Kop at Hillsborough on police advice due to the direction the two sets of supporters would be arriving.Liverpool fans were angry with this citing they had a bigger support than forest so should have the bigger terrace ( did they really mean will it look like we have less support on the Tv highlights ?) and ironically a decision taken by the Police on the grounds of safety maybe led to tragedy. At Heysel, Live game, Juventus it appeared had a much larger support due to them having the full terrace at one end of the stadium and the terrace where the tragedy happened only two thirds allocated to Liverpool the other a neutral area occupied by many Juve fans. Did Liverpool fans see this as losing face? what we do know is several Liverpool supporters were charged and convicted with manslaughter after this tragedy and the banning of English clubs from European competition for five years. Maybe there should be a flag raised on the L/pool Kop which reads BIT LESS PONTIFICATING A LITTLE MORE HUMBLENESS PLEASE.
