just watched highlights on youtube, just after Curle penalty keep watching and McMahon trys to cut Sharpe in half, if he would have got him i dont think Sharpe would have played again, straight red these days

remember going to villa , we won 5-1 and he scored four , he was unplayable that night , he could beat any fulll back for pace , and scored his fair share of goals for a winger . He got an england cap and i thought he went downhill after that , but always gave 100% for us . Amazed we didnt have more success with the players from the 86 youth team lake,brightwell,hinchcliffe,redmond,white,moulden,scott etc all made it to the 1st team .

More success?? My memory is shite but i dont remember any sucess.

Anyway loved whitey, lakey, redmond etc. Those were the days when i used to do about 15 aways per season.

On a technical level - a very fast Dzeko (Ie, rubber shin pads and ability to trap a bag of cement). But on his day there was no stopping him.

He was shite? Really???? He scored 1s 2s 3s even a Four. If a player did any of that for us on Sat at his favourite ground we would be celebrating it like we do. He was brilliant. Not had a player like him since until maybe now with Navas. Did brilliant also as a converted centre forward and whoever said everyone used to love him aint right either. He got stick and never ever hid from his duties and outpacing left backs and blasting accross the keeper was a joy to behold. Imagine Antonio Valencia against an U13 girl left back and you have Whitey. Awesome.
