De Bruyne?

Why are so many proposing we "walk away"?
We've put in the hard yards, we're obviously making some progress and the fact is he'll be signing a whopper of a contract likely to be 5/6 years. Why on earth would we decide to give up on it a week before the window closes?
If you're bored of the transfer then I suggest you knock this thread on the head because there's every chance it'll carry on in a similar vein for the next 6 days. The only reason it's become boring in the first place is down to the regurgitated quotes and tweets that are posted at regular intervals.
We, as a club have said nothing, not a single thing. We've mentioned no price, as far as I know we haven't name checked him at all in the press. All the posturing has been done from their side so I'm not sure how the posters who think City are at fault for not completing the transfer are reaching their conclusions.
As for is he worth it? Of course he is, we've recognised a side of our game that needs improvement and KDB is the perfect player to offer us that. As well as Navas has started there are still weaknesses to his game and I think the club recognise that. For us to go further in all competitions our squad has to be super competitive. Having the likes of Navas and KDB vying for the spot on the right can only be a good thing.
Let this just play out without getting too distressed that it's not being done on your time frame and when it's completed sit back and watch us roll...

It should be mandatory that anybody coming on here to flap should read this before posting.

Even if City just walk away we probably wouldn't even know. It appears the Pogba transfer just died but we heard nothing from City to say they had pulled out of any deal.

City board obviously feel no need to let anyone know what is happening with transfers unless they actually sign. Frustrating for the supporters but seems to be their way.

How do we know we were ever on for him. City has said nothing ether way.
they didnt say we were after agueroi silva yaya kolarov etc either. its been all over the press since June, not have to be einstein to know that he is a big target for us.

Every day he trains again, every day he's linked with someone else, every day his price goes up, every day he signs tomorrow, every day he ain't for sale, every day bild spout shite, every day we all join in, but every day city are silent. Reason? .

Because we have a class set up. Same way we go about all our transfer deals now. No panicking or desperation bids, no leaks or genuine info coming out from the club, no embarrassing episodes etc. We have long term targets and we chip away and we will have discreet discussions around the best players that become available. If we make moves it is in a very considered and respectful way. If we don’t get players we move on. It’s been like this for a while now (the Kaka debacle I think set the tone of how not to do it).

When you look at the mess of the end of window fire sales and panic buying we are very well placed and that is a result of the professional approach adopted above.

Anything to read into the mcfc Twitter account tweeting about kdb? Probably nothing but I would think they would stay away if they weren't confident.

I am worried that they keep changing the goal posts I'm terms of transfer fee

But hopefully we have given them an ultimatum and they accept our large bid

@ADegenerate. Here you go

Welcome to our latest media round up, and with under a week to go until the transfer window closes, speculation is beginning to reach a Kevin De Bruyne fuelled boiling point.

The whereabouts of the 24-year-old was the cause of much consternation among the press on Tuesday after earlier reports he was set to fly into Manchester to conclude a £50m deal with City.

At various points this week United and Bayern Munich have been allegedly set to throw their transfer hats into the ring to try and prise the Belgian away from Wolfsburg, and it seems there could be a few twists and turns in this summer saga yet.

The Independent reported: "Manchester United could move for the 2014/15 Bundesliga Player of the Year having missed out on a number of other high profile targets.

"Most recently, the pursuit of Pedro Rodriguez ended in disappointment when the Spain international opted to join Chelsea at the eleventh hour.

"Conflicting reports have emerged today over the interest out of Manchester as well as that in Germany. United are not yet believed to have made an official bid, while talks are ongoing with City's representatives over a bid well in excess of £50m.

"Bayern Munich have also been linked, but they quickly denied the suggestion. However, reports suggest that Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has held talks with De Bruyne over a permanent move at the end of the season.

"We will definitely not become active in the matter of De Bruyne," Bayern spokesman Markus Hoerwick told reporters. "This is something the board has decided for some time."

Meanwhile, Jason Denayer's future is still up in the air according to Goal.com.

The young Belgian centre-back, so impressive at Celtic last season on a loan spell, could yet be heading out to gain more experience of European football according to the latest reports.

An article penned by Sam Lee Paul Clennam reads: "Denayer was in Istanbul on Monday to watch Gala's shock 2-1 defeat to Osmanlispor from the stands and a move had appeared close to completion.

"But as well as offering £1.1 million as a loan fee, the 20-times Turkish champions want to insert a clause which would allow them to purchase the Belgian outright at any point during the agreement.

"City, however, believe the 20-year-old has a future at the club and have refused the terms; they simply will not countenance such a clause and the deal is on hold as a result.

"Meanwhile, Denayer, who Goal understands had been keen to study other options even after flying to Turkey, was in Marseille on Tuesday and could instead move to the Stade Velodrome.

"Reports in France suggest the defender, who spent last season on loan at Celtic, was at the the Ligue 1 club's training centre to meet new coach Michel."

Finally Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero has been praised for his actions during the Everton game at the weekend, when he stopped to notify the referee that a Toffees fan needed medical attention.

Season ticket holder Frank O’Neill, 70, suffered a small seizure in the crowd, report the Liverpool Echo.

Aguero tweeted: “I was worried but I found out that he was luckily treated in time and is well. My best wishes on his recovery.”

Frank was released from hospital later on Sunday and told the Echo: “I’d like to thank all Everton and Manchester City fans who were at the game, along with medical staff and everyone else who has shown concern and sent messages.”

That's your lot for today, we'll be back tomorrow - plenty of time for more rumours before the September 1 deadline!

dream signing right there!! should forget the ginger one, use some of the pogba cash and get bale!

I doubt we could pull that one. Woodward is desperate and he know there would be riots on Rag side if we would beat them for him, he would bid as high as needed to get them. 200 mil. - 200 mil. Our only chance would be if Bale himself would pick us but I doubt that too, growing in England at his time, he is Raggy himself probably.

City quite brazenly (in my view) put all sorts of dodgy city-related crap on that "What the media says" section on the OS so its no surprise they've detailed the possible Rag/German-Rag involvement - to do anything else would perhaps reveal (circumstantially) their hand

I've had to update my KDB signing calendar AGAIN...
Sigh....

Class :-)

Ah, I see no further developments on the Magic Ginger front.

Well that means City have not publicly distanced themselves from the deal. Which means it will likely come about in the end.

But if it doesn't, we'll be fine going forward anyway. It is not a zero sum game. Not a matter of "well, Wolfsbitches refused to sell in the end so there goes the 50 million into the void. Never available to be spent for the betterment of the club in the future."

Deals come and go. Players come and go. Some work out and some don't. But this club is truly something special and I suspect will always be so through our lifetimes and long after the Magic Ginger winds up his playing career. Wherever that may be.

Nor anything to say we were ever in for him ;)

Yeah, City doen't care what's in media when writing those reports, it adds whatever is interesting from media.

It should be mandatory that anyone coming on here and using the terms flap, flappers, flapping, learn how to either debate and accept people have differing views, get a thesaurus, or simply ignore the posts they don't agree with.
Apart from that - confident we'll get him, at least it's exciting - 6 days left, top of the league and playing great football.

I'm dyslexic but pretty far from Einstein.
It's a frustrating one... Saying that, it could be worse. We could be playing like United or Chelsea. We'll still do well even if he doesn't come.
