De Bruyne?

We briefed the press that the pogba deal was too expensive, no way will city be made to look mugs if we feel the deal is going away from us we will brief we are out of there.

Eden Hazard? And I don't really think it was us who briefed the press, more like it was the Juventus hierarchy who gave the July deadline.

Haven't they already said that De Bruyne prefers City. Also a few weeks ago De Bruyne stated that England is better for his family. If Wolfsburg do accept Bayern's offer, which seems stupid because no way they would help strengthen their biggest title rival, it would then be De Bruyne who has to decide where he wants to play. Going by the word that he has agreed personal terms with us, I would think it is down to a fee being agreed between the clubs.

The only way Bayern gets de bruyne is if he pushes for it. Just like Petr Cech did with chelsea to join Arsenal, even though mourinho didn't like the fact that it would strengthen their title rival.
The difference is that Cech was a Chav legend and it was the least his years of loyal service deserved even if the move did strengthen a direct rival. KDB on the other hand is just a commodity that was bought last year for £18m and is being touted for three times that amount to the highest bidder.

For all we know, Wolfsburg could be cast as the villains if they don't at least give a German club first refusal and a better rate which would put any foreign team at a disadvantage.

People need to stop flapping. It's been widely reported this deal could be finalised on Monday. If we get towards Tuesday/Wednesday without news of a fee being agreed/medical then I might become slightly suspicious.

People panic at suppose Bayern Interest. If as quoted KDB has told Wolfsburg he wants to join city then I very much doubt this will change.

Keep calm and let it pan out. We are strong atm, KDB is clearly an upgrade on Navas but if he weren't to come it would hardly be worth crying over.

In city we trust.

With the Cech scenario, he's spent 10 years or so at Chelsea, and didn't want to leave London. Chelsea felt a degree of loyalty to Cech and let him make the move he really wanted.

What seems strange here, and probably indicative of how revered Bayern are in German football, is that Wolfsburg, the side that finished 2nd last year, are considering selling their best player to Munich for what will be, even at it's best, a deal which is pretty much identical to the one already on the table from City. Can you imagine the same scenario in England? Arsenal have a deal to sell Sanchez to PSG for £50m, but are waiting to see if United will offer £40m + Ashley Young?! Do German sides not give a shit about directly strengthening their rivals?
It's more than a little pathetic. I find such levels of servility to be nauseating in the extreme.

The big thing to remember is De Bruyne wishes play an important part in this deal. If both Bayern and City make the same offer, it will come down to De Bruyne to say, he wants the move to us. If that is the case, it wouldnt matter if Bayern match our offer or not.....At the end of the day, I dont see Bayern beating what we have put on the table....If rumours are right that Wolfsburg verbally agreed our bid, then its clear they not just trying to get extra money out of us by leaking Bayern interest. Looks like its De Bruyne's time to step up again and get this over the line...

True but that was their initial offer, 35m plus Dante, which was before our offer was verbally accepted. This period is ostensibly for Bayern to try and match our offer. Wages mean a lot to the player though and he doesn't want to stay at Wolfsburg for a year. He can't really go to Bayern and get games this year as Robben and Ribery start...plus they have a shit load of midfielders. They do want him, but it may not fit their plans right now.
Well, one year on loan at wolfsburg and both Bayern and Wolfsburg happy. Year after that he can replace Ribéry or RobbenRobben
