De Bruyne?

Kevin De Bruyne: "A club might step in and make an offer that pleases Wolfsburg and also makes me happy."

Didn't we meet his agent in April? Odds today have been cut shorter than De Gea to Madrid, which says something.
Wolfsburg are still the favourites to be his club after summer though. We're only 3-1.

I disagree, De Bruyne's delivery into the box is definitely world class and he has over 20 assists to prove so.

His all round game and work rate needs to improve but in one or two years time he will definitely be world class.

Koke or Pogba are central midfielders anyway, De Bruyne is an attacker.

Forget Bale, he will be at Madrid next season because he is a Perez favourite, plus even if he was to go he would be rag bound.

We wouldn't pay 80m-100m for him when we need to rebuild the bigger picture.

De Bruyne's delivery is excellent but 20 assists in one season in the Bundesliga is not enough to show that he can be a star player in a team that wants to win not only the title but progress to the final few teams in the CL.

Reus is world-class and could be available particularly now Klopp is leaving. Sterling is also a better bet than De Bruyne because he's already got more flair and speed than him even though he's three and a half years younger.

I think you are over-rating Sterling if you think he is a better bet than De Bruyne.

I think you are over rating De Bruyne, he is a Milner type no more.
And yes I have seen him play numerous times this season and yes I have seen his stats.

Obviously not.

I put 20 on him coming to us this afternoon at 5/1 this morning it was 8/1 now 3/1

Not seen a great deal of him but from what I have I don't think he's that great. Wouldn't want to see us pay more than 25 million for him. Would be very disappointed to see us pay the fees mentoned

I agree. I would say at very best he will have a contribution as Nasri has (had?) for us, which would be still great, especially if he can do it more regularly, but he's more suited to a counter attacking side. If people expect a right-footed Silva, who occasionally can play on the left wing (but mainly he's a no. 10), then I think he'll disappoint. He's just not that good and creative in tight spaces.

Anyone heard if there's any chance we throw in Dzeko to reduce the price? Originally heard that months ago and besides his poor form I'm sure Wolfsburg would welcome him back. Dost has only produced this half season thanks to the man we're discussing in this thread

Your two sentences contradict each other.

I've got to agree to some extent. Whenever I've seen him, he's never struck me as a player that's going to be world class. Very effective in the right system, sure, but he doesn't have the technical ability of the likes of Bale, Ronaldo, Robben, Sanchez, Hazard or Ribery. And stats are never the most reliable indicator. Against the packed defences that we're regularly faced with, I'm not sure he'll have the ability to regularly find a way through.

He'd be a good player to buy for Klopp though.

Is this, particularly in Europe , why were seen as a money club? £25m for someone who isn't good.

25m is nothing in the transfer market anymore, look at Depay (25m) Lallana (20 odd + HG tax) + countless others.

We paid nearly 20m for Navas and we got a average to decent winger, transfer market valuations are incredibly skewed because of previous transfers. Paying 30m+ for KDB sounds like a lot but as I have said it really isn't.

What is this he doesnt want to train hard, or track back etc?

Shouldnt that be a minimum requirement toward all of incoming players? Given thats the big problem of Yaya, Nasri, Dzeko that they dont work hard off the ball, dont press, dont track back etc?
