De Bruyne?

We will see they haven't improved in my book, if Young and Fellaini are going to be benched as LvGLooner alluded too they'll be lucky to get top 4

Wishful thinking mate. Would love it but just can't see it. They have improved. A lot more than Liverpool have. They are a shoe in for top 4 this season.

You believe the media to much but they'll probably get of to a flyer with there piss easy games they have

As Friday July 31st sees the appearance in the sky of a Blue Moon wouldn't it be appropriate to have a major signing to celebrate this very rare occurrence.........the next one won't be until Jan 2018!.......just a thought. Pogba or De Bruyne would suffice both would be fantastic.

Well we only seem to make signings once in a blue moon.

Sorry.

Not really. It's a big deal to us, but it's still two domestic league titles - and United have won two in the last 5 years, Chelsea two in the last 6, plus a CL.
It puts us in the same ball park, but it hardly sets us above and beyond. It's made us credible, but hardly dominant. We've got a long way to go before the rest of Europe's top teams are fearing us.

I bet you, those top teams in Europe you talk of, wouldn't want us in their CL group.

Only because we were a pot 3 team and there were easier teams than us. We have done nothing in Europe to frighten the likes of Barca, Real or Bayern. Even though we've beaten Bayern we've not been a threat to their qualification.

It's like drawing Rochdale in the cup vs Villa. Rochdale is the easier option, but we hardly fear Villa.

Some ITK news from a german forum:

- De Koster, De Bruynes agent, is very close with us. Wages per year 15Mio€
- it seems that Wolfsburg will recieve a offer soon, around 75Mio€ (don`t know if it is with or without any bonus payments)

Aka £50m and £200k/week.

This deal. Some thoughts.

The KDB deal with go through, if — and only if — the young man wants it to. Money is a secondary matter. Wolfburg may well not be bluffing when they say they don't need our money. In fact, they don't. It'd be nice, but they can do without it. As for salary: what we can pay De Bruyne can probably be matched by Wolfsburg, and if it can't, well, how much can a twenty-four year old spend? How much does he need to bank, to feel financially secure for the rest of his days? In my opinion, the financial question is secondary. Wolfsburg know we've got the money. De Bruyne knows it. We know that they know it. We want De Bruyne, very much, but we're not desperate for him. Or anyone else, for that matter (no, not even Pogba).

No, as with Sterling, if he really wants to go, they can't hold him. Thing is, the young man is keeping his counsel. Perhaps no bad thing. The transfer window is still open, for another full month. An awful lot of manœuvring can happen in that time. As long as he has not put pen to paper for a new contract, this thing is still completely open. Personally, I don't give a toss if he comes on the stroke of midnight on the very last day of that window. He'll fit in, don't worry about that. The vital thing is that he comes.

He must have talked it over with his agent — many times. I would also hope that his national team captain, who is also our club team captain, has had a word in his ear. But it's for him to choose, finally.

So, let's look at this, objectively, not from our point of view as unconditional fans, but from the point of view of a very talented, ambitious young footballer with no particular connection to Manchester. We've just finished runners-up in our league. So have Wolfsburg. We're in the Champions League. So are they. Ok, even stevens, on the face of it. However, with all due respect, Wolfsburg are going to find it pretty hard to dislodge Bayern to be champions. Could happen, but difficult. We've just been champions twice over in our league, in recent years. And will be again, in the near future. KDB is the undisputed star of his team — here, he'll be a star among stars. That can be motivating for a young footballer who understands that, good as it is, his game can develop and become even better. As we've just seen with a certain Raheem Sterling.

Most important of all, arguably, is just the unmistakeable sense of momentum about City now. Bring a footballer here (even if only virtually), show him the facilities, show him the newly opened academy — second to none in the world, arguably — the newly expanded stadium, the long-term plans — because, make no mistake, the Sheik and the Chairman are planning for years ahead — it just could excite a young footballer with the best years of his career ahead of him. I would say to him — "we've been decidely underwhelming in Europe, we know that. We don't neglect the domestic scene, but we now make that a major target. We want to be lifting that big cup within the next four or five years. We see you as being a key part of that. Creating history at this club. Helping us to do something that's never been done here in more than a hundred years". That just could be an exciting pitch. And Wolfsburg can't credibly make that pitch.

Nobody knows jack shit about whether this deal will go through — least of all myself — although the fact that big mouth Mourinho is sounding off about KDB at present is a sure sign that he's rattled, and may have heard something we haven't.

But these are marginal factors that may tip it.
