Absolutely cracking footballer, just unlucky that marketing firm that pick Brazil's players obviously don't think he's pretty enough.

Not sure what your point is friend. You should have seen Grafite that year. Totally unplayable, knocking goals in left right and centre.

Wasn't actually trying to start any sort of debate with that one. I just don't rate De Bruyne as highly as most on here seem to. He seems well-rounded with good work-ethic and above average delivery/finishing. Would be a very expensive Milner replacement. Definitely an upgrade but not a player I see as being a part of our future nucleus. And quite frankly, that's all I want to see us invest in this window, either our future core or players that are going to take us up a notch immediately. i.e. reus, sanchez, di maria
 
I think most of us agree the two things that we lack are 1. Pace - The likes of Sterling could fix that, and 2. Someone who can cross a ball. - De Bruyne is a wonderful crosser and can pick out the right man. This season how many times did Milner, Navas - in fact lots of our players get into a great position and hit the first man on crosses? Same on corners. For a team with such powerful centre backs to score just one goal between them can't be right.

He would be ideal. A lot younger than Milner and has no issue over playing wide, something that JM didn't want even though that's now what he's going to get at his new club. There's also the age factor to weigh in, and City's squad certainly needs refreshing in this area. De Bruyne certainly fits this bill and would have some sell on value, unlike many of our old boys. Today's news quoting our Chairman is exciting stuff and has removed some of the doubt as to what we are to do this summer, especially as he says that money is no objective. Although I'm not too sure that Sterling is a player we can expect to see plenty of in the new season, if he develops a thick skin here then he too could have real sell on value. Other than Pogba, that would be an ideal window for me although I would like Isco to be added to our incomers. He has never admitted to have made a mistake in joining Madrid but I think he would be open to rejoin Pellegrini as he would be back with his daddy and his game would surely flourish. That would do for me. Am I being greedy?

Over the past few window people have wanted us to sign Di Maria, Sanchez, Mata, Shaw, Falcao, yet the teams they joined still finished below us. It's about signing the right players not the biggest names. Hungry Players with a point to prove to other premier teams like De Bruyne and Pogba not players who think they've nothing to prove.

Would be even better if we could find that in one player, rather than 2.

Have only seen him play a couple of times but he didn't strike me as a player that had a strong work ethic.

While I agree we need high quality YOUNG talent from wherever we can find it (even in our own backyard!), we have to stop paying over the odds for it. If players do not want to come to City to fight for the title and the CL every year, or other teams think we are still willing to pay over the odds, then we need to hope the Academy starts producing players very soon.

We need to start cultivating the Madrid/Barca model of adding one or two top quality players per year, without being bent over to do it, thus revitalizing the entire team every 5 years. That kind of continuity breeds healthy competition while also maintaining the stability of the squad over time.
