De Bruyne?

I know he struggled in Spain, but going out on loan isn't easy.

Also look at Delph. His start to his Villa career was very poor, then he came good

That's true.

I just have my reservations about Zucullini's potential. He's similar to Evans IMO as someone who looks top class in small bursts but you just know will never make the grade at this level.

I'd much rather see Manu Garcia chucked in at the deep end. I know he's a kid and still needs a lot more physical development but the lad has got the ability.

His style is so easy on the eye and he's confident under pressure which is a huge plus in today's game. However, I don't get the comparisons to Silva. He's more like Xavi IMO and could easily be the played to keep our midfield ticking.

Agree, we're not stronger than last year, and our squad doesn't look ready to challenge for the title.
Justify by comparing the players in to those who have been sold.

Jovetic and Dzeko are potentially very good players, but they weren't playing or contributing last season. Lampard was struggling to get to the pace of the game. The only player we will miss is Milner.

We still have Bony to come in. His pre-season has been disrupted but he's unplayable when fit. A massive upgrade on Dzeko who wasn't bothered.

Sterling means teams can't sit on the edge of the box because he's liable to get in that box, and once he does it mean goals.

Delph had a massive impact on Villa last season and has been their POTY for 2 seasons running and was largely responsible for their trip to Wembley.

Sorry Marv, but I can't get my head around Delph, he wouldn't have been good enough for us four years ago, he's got so little on the ball quality. Towards the end of the season, Lampard played behind Aguero and was excellent, he became another runner who caused space. Milner too. Don't forget Lampard won us a lot of points last year.

Madness that we've not slapped the money down.
Why don't you just wait and see what evolves. Could be a lot of negotiating going on that you are not aware of. Everything the payer says is very positive yet you are all takinga very pessimistic view. Should be encouraged by the player and Wolfsburg's comments.

I actuallyam not that bothered about De Bruyne, a I think our attacking proposition is already very strong. I'd prefer to look at the midfield where Toure is suspect going off last season.....but maybe City feel that is temporary or feel Delph can cover if Toure does not improve on last season

It's clear KDB wants the move, and it seems he's telling city what they need to do. I can work out why we haven't bid yet, it's getting ridiculous now.
One of the transfer experts will be on to tell you.

Pick one of the following:

  • We don't want to leave our arses hanging out
  • Complex deals take time
  • We need to make room for a foreign spot before getting him in
  • There is no hold up

Pretty much the standard response to a question like yours.

Players progress. he has. Lampard was poor there should be no argument on that. He rescued a point v Chelsea and early on had some good games off the bench, but overall he was well gone.

Have you seen the size of lopes up top after 1 season out on loan! I'd send garcia out and hope he could come back the same lopes is now ready to go in the squad!

KDB wants us and we want him. When (if) we get him it will def have made for an interesting transfer window. Seems like Berg. is thinking about next year as much as this one.

Maybe we have but we have an agreement with wolfsburg that we don't go public with the bid.
Unlike the mickeys with sterling who squealed about us at every opportunity.
I think we've got the ball to roll with de bruyne.

Hope you're right mate. After Jovetic left I thought it'd be a matter of time. The reason people are worried is the season kicks off in 7 days we don't look prepared

Just maybe we are letting wolfsburg find/seal a deal for his replacement! Always thought city live would be an ideal night to announce him!

That's a valid point about Lopes looking a lot more muscular.

However, I'm not sure Garcia needs to beef up in that way. If you look at a lot of the top Spanish midfielders such as Dave, Xavi, Isco, Busquets and Iniesta, none of them are particularly strong. They just have the technical ability to know how to draw pressure from the opponent into a foul.

I think the lad could play a part this season of coached correctly. He just needs experience.

We'll be fine come west Brom.
Pre season is all about getting the fitness levels up.
I'd rather we go into the new season won, lost and drawn games than beating teams 4 and 5-0.
The players will turn it on come the first whistle of the new season and with Sterling up front linking up with merlin already I can only see exciting times ahead.
We got the kids on the fringes, nacho gives us something completely different up front, we got the south Americans to welcome back.
Fuckin bring it on.

My only worry is that Pellegrini seems unsure of the midfield. Playing Nasri in the midfield 3 has been a disaster twice and fair enough, pre-season is the time to experiment, but it looks like he is searching for midfield options because we're lacking.

Hopefully he's just looking for a place for Nasri in the new formation, and his hand was forced by injuries. Thinking Evans-Nasri-Silva was going to be OK away from home... I just hope he's got that out of his system.

I will agree that some people are being way too dismissive of Delph, Denayer & Iheanacho. Delph is not an £8m quality player, he'd probably have cost 3x that without the buyout clause. Denayer has shown he's good enough, for Celtic in Europe last season and for Belgium. Iheanacho has had 2 goals and 3 assists, linked up brilliantly wiith Sterling all preseason, and some people are panicking because we've lost Jovetic...

So the club is open to selling and the player is open to moving...

Only City could drag this out by NOT EVEN MAKING A BID. This should be as simple as a transfer gets but it's taken us longer than it did to wrestle Sterling from the scouser's grip.
