Meh
The fact we bid a figure that had already been rejected tells me it was just a message to Arsenal that we were interested and intended to panic them into upping their bid.The one caveat to that is why bid £90m, a figure which Arse had rejected days before?
It's as if we wanted to panic Arse into massively upping their bid, & then telling all involved "It's a bit rich for our blood blud, so we're out!"
Arse fans ain't happy! Can't you tell? A few days ago the place was crawling with em, but they've disappeared up their own arses since we "ended our interest" lickety split! Lol :-)
Good.Fuck me giddy arsenal fans on sky sports news already.
Can't stop laughing. One was saying they are back.
I thought they was back last year. Looks like they've won the 'we've signed more players than you' trophy already.
Fuckin tarquins.
The thought of the Arse spending £170m (so far), just to tread water delights me.
If they found themselves an actual finisher, that would have me a bit more nervous.
We have spent £25M to tread water, also, but we're the ones others have to catch.
We have form for making others drive up their own offers, just for us to switch tact that keeps us ahead of the chasers.
It's like other clubs never learn.

It was a free hit for us.
If we were serious about buying him, surely our initial bid would have been higher than Arsenal's.
West Ham have played a blinder to be honest, they knew Arsenal wanted Rice and Vice Versa, player agreed personal terms and just club to agree fee, used the convenience of City being at the table to squeeze Arsenal to a fee they were happy with. If City weren't at the table then Arsenal would be 20mill better off, negatives can become positives :-)
He was never choosing City
He’d rather stay in London and play for a team of play acting time wasters than improve himself and win trophies.Fair play to him. Hope Arse seal the deal as I would not want him at City for that moneyEmbarrassing stuff from assna fans tonight.
Did they forget we won the treble? The only reason he's joining them lot because we pulled out.
Not the first time City have been used to bump transfer prices and it won't be the lastBit bizarre that out two top targets didn't want to choose City.
Dissapoinring post. It's a bit dissapoinring to be honest
We do have a habit of not getting some of these deals over the line at times.
However as much as he's a good player, I don't think he's a great player.
Typical over hyped English player.
That said it is dissapoinring.

Evening TxikiWe play the long game.
No point getting a player over our budget, that then ruins the next target.
You only have to look at United and maybe Chelsea lately to see over paying simply doesn't work.
It's like me bidding on ebay. I used to get caught up in bidding wars just to have the satisfaction of winning.
It didn't take me long to realise this was a mugs way to do things.
So i now do my research, set a budget and stick to it.
Yes now and again i regret not bidding more when i struggle to find an item anywhere near the winning price.
More often than not though i've found even better items for less money and find that more rewarding.
Arsenal will be under HUGE pressure to bring home silverware. He’s been backed massively and nearly all of his 1st choice targets have been successfully signed.
I think people kinda already know that.Only worry is, it is the start of the window but the midfield market is moving quickly and the fees keep increasing. Plus we've just announced to other clubs we've got 90 mil to spend on a midfielder.
