Just back and still angry. Got to say that is the most inept display of management I have seen in a long time , this guy is fucking clueless. Need to score swap a right back ,jimmy out wide right with navas on bench and Garcia in the team. To completely change the back four for a game away from home with great results going into it is beyond belief. 3 hours on a coach and still not calmed down he is fucking useless

In the interview I heard on 5-live, Pellegrini said we played well today and he is happy with how we are playing away from home, so he doesn't think there's a problem. Very very worrying

OH MY did he really did he actually say that? Now i am very very worried. This is by far the worst engineer i have ever seen!

Could he be the same engineer that said, "The Titanic is unsinkable" ?

You misunderstood i completely agree with you in fact the vast majority do, but i cannot understand why he does it, nobody with his experience in the game can be so daft, unless he can see something we can't, somebody somewhere must be able to come up with a reason for the garcia toure partnership, Pellegrini has a very good reputation in the game so what is he seeing that we are not

No probs, apologies mate, I'm still so fucking irritated by that shite today, it completely fucks up my day and puts me in a shit frame of mind for the week ahead.

Even lots of vino isn't helping....

;-)

No problem mate, the only reason i can think of is that he feels the need to rotate and gambles against the lesser teams, but looking how we have done so far this season doing this it would worry me greatly if this was the case

how many good teams play with two in midfield and two up front? bizarre
Do any of you follow the city news? Silva and Fernandinho and Nastasic were injured. So who comes into midfield? You have a choice of Milner who he played and Rodwell or Garcia. Garcia went off at half time and we still didn't score with navas on

Not trying to reduce the impact of the result or performance, but you have to accept there were injuries which a manager has to react too

Please don't try and blame the result on rotation of full backs. Totally irrelevant

He's 60. I don't think he was ever going to be long term.
Ferran said in his post season interview that he has always held the philosophy of a two season cycle for managers. I am a staunch Pellegrini defender but if we don't improve I wouldn't be too surprised to see a new head coach come in this summer. That is the beauty of the director of football approach, we could theoretically change coaches without having to disrupt the squad too much. We can appoint coaches based on our squad.

What happens if the director of football is shit though? the big problem with the dof system is that when things go wrong the blame game becomes a lottery
Their is no evidence to support that claim. On the contrary however, Txixi oversaw the most successful era in Barcelona's history. Which suggests he is far from shit.

Re: Clueless manager

Subject should read "totally f ing Clueless Manager,
I will soon be priced out from physically watching my Blue Shirted Hero's. Thankfully we bagged the Title with Sir Bobby Manc. Going nowhere fast with this current Engineer!

Re: Clueless manager

Because he disrespected Sunderland and how hard the premier league is away from home! Let's hope NOW he has learned because I can't take another performance like that one![/quote]

Bang on.
Like he also disrespected Villa & Cardiff.

Then why wouldn't they employ you on the fraction of the wages? after watching many city managers and england one's in particular i have come to the conclusion that either managers are
either vastly overrated or us fans are clueless

That's always the easy reply though.

Bottom line is, and you can check the pre-match thread, but as soon as the team was announced I said we'd struggle and it was the wrong side for today's game. Blatantly obvious he was relying on Sergio and Beast to win the game with no regard whatsoever about what we were going to face.

He should have mixed it up, gone 4-2-3-1 for example, and certainly, and I hate repeating myself, but ay manager who starts with Garcia, especially in a 4-4-2 really is bordering on being fucking clueless.

MP is certainly testing my patience.

hard to argue with this.

It has to be a decision from above that MP isn't playing 4-3-2-1 as thats his favorite formation, prior to this season, there was only a handful of times he played 4-4-2 dating back to 2010, noticeably with Santa Cruz as the loan striker.

I'm fed up of squad rotation. Why does it have to be 4/5/6 players? Use the same nucleus of the team and rotate 1 or 2 if necessary.
Fernandinho, Nasty and Silva all picked up injuries. And those are only the ones we know about.
So only change the ones who need to be changed then. The others were on the bench, one of them even came on.

There are times and opportunities where he could change 1 or 2 players by choice, not changes forced upon him by injuries, this is why we have a squad so they all get an understanding of what he wants ,then when he is forced to make changes , injuries, bans etc..... The players he brings in are not too short of match time . Eg Micah - he needs more game time but in a settled back 4 not one with wholesale changes - its fucking madness !!

Just become fashionable on here lately to dig out these two mate

There's no middle ground with us. We either batter someone (at home), or we lose (away).

We need to learn again how to win ugly away from home, and if we cant win then at lease make sure we dont lose.

I can't speak for the rest but I am prepared to give him another season. No point firing Pellegrini now as there is no obvious replacement available. Once we get our injured players back and with one or two additions in January we will be fine for the rest of this season.
