Re: Clueless manager

New on here (first post)
Still annoyed at ydays defeat been reading through some of the posts on here... I think its pathetic that people are calling for the manger to be gone after 11 games... With an exception from garcia with the team that was picked yday (bearing in mind injuries) we should of won the game to BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE SUNDERLAND kolarov has shown enough good form this season to be picked.. If u would of asked anyone before the game if they would prefer richards or zabaleta to start im sure alot of them would of said they dont mind either playing. we won the league with lescott in the middle... However that all said i do NOT back the players on the day too many players turned up without any desire too fight for some points and grind out a result... People saying we battered sunderland are deluded "battering " a team is creating clear cut chances and doing something with it. You can call the manager all you want but if players turn up too games with attitudes like that then you might aswell call it a day !

Re: Clueless manager

Eh, I don't know how a lot of this is Pellers' fault. GK punts it at Villa, Lescott and Nasty (iirc) miscommunicate at it turns to a goal. Hart screws up at the Chavs, etc.

It is frustrating to drop so many points to weak sides. Practically it makes things very difficult as far as winning the League. Pretty much have zero margin of error now.

But what are you going to do? Bring in Pulis or some other tosspot who happens to be available? I can't see that helping things all that much.

lets cut to the chase.

we dropped an almighty bollock sacking Mancini. worse still was the summer of winning the title we didn't invest in our success.

both criminal acts.

words out of my mouth mate. And even putting that behind us, worse than that we've now got a bloke in charge who won't change things when required in the name of being "holistic". I fucking hate that word.

Re: Clueless manager

Colin Bellsend needs to be severely reprimanded for his knee jerk reaction. What were City fans saying about Pellegrini after the 7-0 thrashing of Norwich (who beat us last season) and the 5-2 trouncing of CSKA Moscow? Some of you Bluemooners are so fickle. According to my detailed assessment, we are only 3pts off what we should have been at this stage of the season. After all, we did beat Manure and Everton, when creditable draws could have been expected. No intelligent City fan could have predicted us getting more than a point at Stoke, Chelsea, West Ham and Sunderland. Moreover, we are still only 6pts off the leaders. With a good run under our belts, we could easily be top by February. Stop panicking! Give the manager our support.

Big Martin says the hard work starts at Christmas for Manuel - I beg to differ, it started on Sunday

Pellegrini had it easy
Manchester City did not reach the Champions League last 16 because Manuel Pellegrini is a master tactician. They progressed because he had the good fortune to land one of those 2+2 groups: two top level teams, two that are cannon fodder. Roberto Mancini would have breezed through just the same. So would just about any Manchester City manager from the modern era.
Mancini never got a 2+2 group. Last season he was up against Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, the previous year Bayern Munich, Napoli and Villarreal.

The 2+2 groups are easy to spot because the numbers are disproportionate. The combined goal difference of the bottom clubs, CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen, in City’s Group D is -16. Nothing else comes close: Group A -6, Group B -6, Group C -12 (Anderlecht account for 10 of those), Group E -7, Group F -4, Group G -9, Group H -7.
The figures are symmetrical so City and Bayern Munich have the best combined goal difference, too: +16. They also have 21 points between them compared to scores of between 14 and 18 in all other groups.
So Pellegrini hasn’t been tested yet. The real work starts after Christmas; for Mancini it began on the day the draw was made.

Hard to argue with Martin Samuel there.

I have always found that people get themselves sacked rather than are sacked

Stick around when the next good run starts a load of them disappear only to reappear the next time we loose

Re: Clueless manager

Until we are beaten off the park like we were against Bayern in the Prem, I'm not going to panic, as we saw last week, other "top" teams will lose this season. Ever loss can be pointed out to individual errors for the most part and hindsight is always 20/20 with arm chair managers who have the perfect tactics/XI that would have won us every game. Are some players not playing at the fork we know they can play sure, but some of need to move on and up. I'd hate to see how ya'll react when your ex moves on.

Re: Clueless manager

I still believe we are more than good enough to win this league, we have played some great football at times even without key players.
Lessons have been learnt and we will bounce back. I mean, 6 points is only 2 wins isn't it!
