Discuss Pellegrini

I was just on the verge of starting a new topic when I decided it would get slaughtered so I will pose the question on this one.

If not Pellegrini then who would you want as manager?

I am not advocating sacking him after four games but who is available that could do the job anyway? Apart from Mancini, what top class manager is currently out of work?

Mancini should have got another year.

When he was at Napoli I wanted Mazarri so still him. Would love AVB too.

Obviously though I'd rather keep Pellegrini for a long time yet.

Got a massive game tuesday first could shape our season madrid away really set us back last season as for pellers he, s getting used to the players and viceversa if were in touching distance by xmas I really do think we will piss the lge!

This bullshit is naive as hell, we have the toughest back half of the season I can remember.

Rather play the tough games at the end when the players are settled in if we played them now we could already be lookin like the title was out ov reach!

I would much rather have the points on the table, the players should have been able to get themselves up for the big games more than they have for the first few games. It is always better to get the away games out first as these are the toughest fixtures.

Looks like we have taken several steps back this season and if god forbid we get beat by the scum I'd be very concerned it looks like a fight for top four rather than a title challenge.

The usual over reaction to City not winning the game. i agree we are missing vincent in defence and the new players are taking the usual time to bed in, so lets all push in the same direction. We will get better as we play more games, and the season is not over by a long way. Put it in perspective, not so long ago we would have lost that game. We came away with a point and their manager looked like he had won the league. We have two massive games next week. lets get behind the team 100%.

Sheikh Mansour is a fucking idiot?

rammy mate, me, you and half this forum know more about football than our owner. he will have been guided by the gruesome twosome.

I know mate, only jesting.

Thing is though, Mancini had to go, of that there is no doubt. What we should be debating now and in weeks to come is whether Ferran and Txiki have dropped a bollock by appointing MP.

I must admit to being slightly mystified by his selections and tactics so far however due to the injuries I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

the bollock dropped was not standing the entire squad against a wall and asking the question "who wants to play for Manchester city?" those that do Carrington is that way. those who don't, off you pop. we are the only club that could stand up to these prima donna's who think by ending a 44 year drought their work is done.

mancini and pelli shouldn't come in to it. the club sign them, the club pay them. the manager is just another employee.

This question should never have been asked. Pellegrini is our manager - end of story

Eh?

So no-one is allowed to discuss how good, bad or indiferent he has been to date?

You would have had to show a great amount of faith to keep him, personally long term it could have been a great decision but it would have been very messy

you couldn't have given him a year you would have had to trust him for the next five years at least

Pellegrini seems like a nice guy. But he's 60 years old and if he was going to be a great football manager he would be one already.

The club has fallen victim to politics. Neither Sheikh Mansour nor Khaldoon are football people and they've been badly advised.

After 4 games??? I guess it's a discussion for the Red Cafe forum

When his name was first put forward, I thought why the hell would we want to sack a serial winner and replace him with the Chilean version of Juande Ramos. However not wanting to appear a bad loser went along with the Cabals version, that Pelle is a football genius. To be fair to that small group of Mancini dislikers, Txiki and most of the media and the players seemed to concur.

Having now seen the first games of his reign the obvious thing is that whereas when Roberto came in he organised a fairly shambolic defence, Pelle seems to have made our defence appear extremely vulnerable.

That wouldn't be so bad if something were offered in return. But in fact we look pretty disorganized all over the park.

I can't help feeling that the signings have been good. The question is whether we have a Joe Venglos or an Arsene Wenger running things from the side.
