So tell us why MP was so bad.

He put Yaya in a midfield two.
He started Nasri on the right when we needed someone to neutralize Neymar.

I thought he put out the best side he could. Hw went 3 5 1 as everyone has been asking.
He didn't envisage playing with 9 men first half, due to Yaya and Nasri downing tools.
He saw his mistake at half time and pulled Nasri. We don't know what was said at HT
but maybe he thought Yaya would buck his ideas up. i don't know what else he could have
done last night and sure the result could have been worse, but we aren't good enough
at the moment to compete at that level. We have to many players that have trouble
stopping the ball.

Spot on mate, but so easy for some to ignore the facts and just blame the manager

His sound bites in the pressers are getting a bit more interesting.

From not feeling pressure and expecting to last the contract unless he is unhappy and expressing a desire to extend to saying he is under pressure now.

From not wishing to comment on any managers situation to saying that Wenger , Rogers and Ancelotti were/are under pressure.

All in a very short period of time.

A manager usually knows when he time is up even though he might not have had that conversation with the person who pulls the plug on him.

I smell a change in the air if a YAYA less and side without Milner ( most likely ) doesn't get the bickies against WBA.

Pullis and the attitude of a side free from relegation worries have MP 's fate in their hands.

This is my point. This is what he did wrong. How can you not envisage what Yaya and Nasri did on Wednesday. It was obviously going to happen. And he didn't take Nasri off because he sucked (he did) he took him off because he was one challenge away from red.

3 5 1 you say, LOL (need to check your maths, we played with 11 all night, despite Nasri), for me, it was 4 4 2 all night, some will say 4 4 1 1.

However formations aren't important for me, player commitment is, and at least 2 of our 11 were pretty useless all night, and they were both part of our midfield 4, one removed at HT, the other later.

In games at this level you can't afford passengers, and we had two last night, the sooner both leave the better for me.

Agreed it was the same 4-2-2-2 we always use just with one recognizable striker.

WTF. That really is a piss poor observation

It's been a weird week... Pellegrini seems like he is going to stay at the club until at least the end of next season... in a week where we've been torn apart by Barca and lost to Burnley. He actually seems more safe now. I think the club have purposely released press articles and links to transfer rumours etc to show that we have a serious gameplan this summer and that Pellegrini is going to stay and is happy with what the club are doing.

That's good news, stability helps bring players in and with the right squad I'm confident Pellegrini can get us back to last years standards. Exciting times. I think we can all see that certain players aren't helping his system. Though he should be changing things really if that's the case.

There is no point to sack the manager when only 9 games left. New manager wouldn't make any difference in such a short period of time, he could make it even worse.

Its the managers fault that 2 years on the trot he's made the 2nd leg mission impossible because of poor tactics/formation/player selection. When you're playing a team better than you first rule in Europe is give yourself a chance 2nd leg away from home! Park the bus if need be get that clean sheet and let them worry about the away goal rule 2nd leg! No not this clown lets play a very attacking 4-4-2 against 1 of the best teams in the world at retaining the ball.

Complaining about tiredness and the early kick off isn't a good sign. We had a fortnight to prepare for burnley for all the good that did us. He's way past the point of no return, It's over for manuel and anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves.
I personally think its those who are saying that "its over" and "he's past the point of no return", that are fooling themselves, I'll still be surprised if he's not here for the start of next season.
