Do you want the glory hunters/tourists?

I should stop reading these types of threads; some of the responses really make me sick to the stomach.

which posts are making you sick?

If you wanna support City, you need a connection - come from Manchester or near by, family member supporting them, etc..

rather have 44,000 fans everyweek with 3,000 empty seats, than have it taken up by them.

And generally every other thread or response that has made out-of-towners like myself feel the need to defend ourselves for supporting City. As I stated earlier in the thread, I do not think that was the intention of the OP, but still some of the responses certainly makes me feel as if I have to do just that.

I dont give a toss why anyone suports city as long as they suport them, i have rag mates who will ask me if united are playing today or look suprised when i tell them they are winning like"o were playing today??". You can come from london in a massive united suporting family and suport city aslong as you actuly care about them, not even that botherd if you go to games as long as you hurt when we loose and buzzin when we win.

Couldn't agree with you more. Maybe red nose isnt as daft as we think he is.

By the way I was born and grew up less than a mile from main road.

It also got to the point after reading numerous of these kinds of threads, that the last time I visited, I actually asked my gf and her sister (their first games) not to take any pictures during the game, in fear of being labelled a rag-esque kind of supporter. A stupid thing to do, looking back at it, but thats the way it is. These threads have a habit of making me feel uncomfortable at the games I actually do get to see, which is a big shame.

I love these forums sometimes. We should expand the stadium so we'd have a huge ass stadium..and then only allow people in with bank statements on them posted to an M area post-code. Brilliant.

I am not born&bred around here. I support Manchester City because I, living in Manchester, have seen how they work in the community and hold values a lot firmer than any other football club I've seen. Supporting a team such as this rather than any competing nearby club makes perfect sense.

Now there's a possibility I'll move away from Manchester in a while - should I change alliances? Support Arsenal/Villa/PSG instead? No way. In fact, I'm gonna teach my kids to support City as much as I can, whether they've ever been to Manchester or not. And I hope that one day they fly in, go to a game and take a few photos while there.

LOL

This is great stuff talk about two different threads

1 -Come on city fans fill the lower away section out for the wigan game!

2- This thread do we really want glory hunters/tourists?

Well looking at how the ticket sales have gone- answer yes!

Its a shame that in this blokes minds made up who he will see as glory hunters.

Remember when we went down to the second division friday night game down at Fulham got beat 2-0 a think, heard a few irish and even a few scottish accents. That I found out had come all the way down +others flew over to make a weekend of it.

Shame ( at a guess ) a few of the younger lot of blues fans coming through now are going to be thinking of these as glory hunters.

But to be honest who gives a flying fxxk, we all know we are city deep inside.

As an American I have no family members who have even heard of City nor did I know anybody who supported them when I became a fan. I have never liked any other team so I'm not going to feel guilty about liking them. I spend money on shirts, scarves and another $20.00/month on TV and online access to watch all the games. In truth, it's a lot harder and takes more effort to follow the team from here than it does for all the locals.

Plus, I've already heard rumblings from some rag fans who are already scoping out new teams to support when the inevitable happens and they fall from the CL. Most of them are preparing to cheer for Spurs.

Some of you need to relax. If I saw an English kid in a Mets hat it would make my day, god forbid someone likes the same team as you.
