I'd prefer it if he didn't go but he's peaked at City. It seems to be a given that he'll lose the captaincy soon if he stays with us and it's always difficult to keep focused when you've been demoted at work. The same with happened with Distin when Dunne was given the captains armband - he stayed but was never the same and not long after went to Pompey.

Dunne deserves first team football, he has been our player of the year 4 times. Oh how easily some forget. He is one of the best in the Premiership, not perfect but neither is Terry, Ferdinand, and other so called superstars.

Whatever happens I hope it is Dunnes free choice and I wish him well. At the moment it is purely a press story.
