Dzeko (Merged)

Re: Dzeko

Shit players like him dont score all the goals he has in the champions league and in the German league.

God I dread to think what some of us would make of Goater if he rolled up nowadays.

he had much better game than Dzeko and showed his pace and ability several times. Dzeko has no pace whatsoever and thats a big no no in the PL

Wow what a load of crap. The prem's current top scorer is Berbatov and he has 0 pace.

Sure, right after the Game he was searching the Player ratings Theard.

Edin does read here (As does Kolarov). He also used to read the Wolfsburg forum when he was there.
plz tell me you are not comparing to berbatov? berba has fantastic first touch and aweraness, what he lacks in pace, he makes it up in touch, vision and technique

Re: Dzeko

Really depressing seeing City fans giving up on a striker after 2 months at the club.

I'm sure we were never this bad.

Dzeko will become a blue hero once the stiffness wears off.

this...just wait for the moment he settles and gets into his stride...he looks either afraid sometimes, or frustrated at the lack of support and the opportunities to score, hence stiff and indecisive in one-on-ones, notts vs the keeper, aris the same, chelski vs luiz and ivanovic a couple of times, but I've seen (repeating myself) yesterday flashes of him fighting back and getting the hang of it...Ivanovic and terry both, and luiz gave him a good kicking in the first few air duels, but only luiz didn't find himself on the ground couple of minutes later, both ivanovic and terry did...he did turn luiz a couple of times with his first touch but was far away from goal to make any real use of it...once he pops his first in slating will turn to glorification...

Re: Dzeko

I thought he had best debut of most of our front man signings in recent years, a nutmeg, an assist, OK he hasn't been outstanding but he won a lot in the air at Chelsea which takes some doing. Don't always need to score when you first come but show you are a team player. Drog didn't settle easily at Chelsea when he first came did he?

there are always two sides of the story...the one you saw, as did I, him having a good game winning headers and linking up play, and some, as on MOTD see what they want to see, him loosing the ball, not being confident enough to try and take on Luiz and stuff like that...

Re: Dzeko

Confidence is the problem IMO, he needs to start shooting more instinctively instead of taking one or two touches or trying to work a better position. There was a good example of that yesterday when he got the ball on the the left corner of the chelsea box in a bit of space - an instant left foot shot was on and I've seen him score from that position but he took two touches and then tried to come inside and the chance was gone.

Re: Dzeko

Dzecko, Kolerov, Ballotelli, and Boetang will all be much improved after a full pre-season. Years ago we bought one of the greatest players ever in Rodney Marsh mid season. Result he cost us the league that year no doubt. It's hard to hit the ground running in mid season. Also Adebayor should still be here with Dzecko fighting for his place. Likewise Bridge should still be here with Kolerov pushing him. Bellamy should definately still be here, as he is still the only player on the books with lightning pace. CTID

Harsh but true. Appears to be going backwards, and it'll stay like that until someone gets in a cross or 2, or gives him something to feed on so he can get a goal or 2.
Sadly, the pigeons are coming home to roost from our misguided transfer policy. Can only be reversed by a minimum of 4 points out of the next 6, and a win at wembley.
I'll still be cheering but it's been dire for 3 months and Bobby's got to turn it round somehow. I don't want him out - I want him to turn it round and let me see Dzeko as a £27m striker.
He's got enough raw materials to do it, and without the Europa league as a distraction, has no excuses.

I was referring to his Wolves debut which was great, I too thought he was OK at Chelsea in his difficult one up front role. MOTD never see whole game anyway, spend more time on chat than any game, unless Berbatov finally overtakes Tevez and then they devote 10 minutes to showing EVERY goal he'd scored all season. Jeeesus, can't stand the programme.

-- Mon Mar 21, 2011 11:45 pm --

Think Balo has pace once he stops moping around and Ya Ya has amazing pace when he's pushed ball too much in front of him but agree we miss Bellers

I'd go for 'harsh, and total bollocks'.

Dzeko is a very good player, and when RM sorts his system and tactics out, he will deliver. Dzeko's performances are a sympton, not the cause of our problems, and it is a joke that some on here are suggesting he is a dud.

Re: Dzeko

As always people are too quick to judge

I know you cant predict anything for sure, but I think he will turn out to be a class signing for us

I think he has already shown glimpses of how good he can be when he has played with Tevez up front, and if you have seen some of the goals he scored in Germany (different league i know!!) he is a class act

I think some of the comments about him yesterday on both Sky and MOTD were unfair, but only time will tell I guess

Re: Dzeko

Seem to be in the minority, but I thought he did fairly well against Chelsea: his best game in the league aside from Wolves.

Some good movement off the ball got him into good positions (think the the one on one with Luiz), lacking a bit in confidence but I'll be honest and say I thought he'd really struggle against a bruiser like Terry and he held his own well.

I think he's adapting to the league, just needs to adapt to the team and vice versa

I agree with that and what impresses me even more is his obvious willingness and effort to adjust and improve.Dzeko will prove his worth.

Re: Dzeko

If Dzeko does read here i feel sorry for him. He is a top quality player and i hope he finds form. I have faith that he will. Forza Dzeko!!!
