Ederson or Hart. Who gets into the team of the decade?

Absolutely spot on, some just dont see that though

Spot on.

Allisson is in pole position to win golden gloves. He’s pretty much been responsible directly for about 15-20% of the goals Liverpool have conceded.
The back four & 3 defensive holding midfielders has contributed far more to his ‘golden hloves’ than he has himself.

A couple went in to Joe's left in a short space of time and the media started going on about a perceived weakness. No mention of the colossal number of vital saves down to his left.

Pickford has made more mistakes in one year in an England shirt than Joe did in 70-odd games for his country.

Yeah and Pickford is shite- I say it more than anyone.

But he has. He keeps the ball and starts attacks, every game.
Eddie for me, ive never seen a keeper as good as him.
He’s our most important player.

Yeah I know, was joking

Difficult to choose between peak JH and Eddie. Both perfect for our teams at the time

I have to disagree with you in that imo golden gloves does not determine whether a keeper is wc or not. I also think Joe has had his day at the top and will not see a big club again

yes its a team game and you play in unit's like a defence midfield forwards, but clean sheets and golden gloves are just important as the golden boots to the forwards, and the base to any good team are clean sheets, joe hart made so many great save in his time at man city and just ask messi when joe hart was magic

joe hart was world class and right up their with the best and you would not be in the manchester city team if you was dodgy, yes every keeper as a clanger in his locker just like a striker missing a tip in from the goal line it happens just ask aguero,

the question is about the last 10 years in goal for manchester city and you have to pick joe hart, he was the rock and a big part of the early success and the foundation was built for others to come and take the gloves, joe hart was world class and if he was playing over the road in red he would be talked about with the tag the best in the world, sadly lifestyles and he game style is dated and now everybody wants a sweeper keeper to play out from the back and control the whole of the play from back to front

I value your opinion but still conclude the keeper is wholly dependent on the ten in front of him. If they are able to prevent attacks, then the keeper will inevitably rack up several clean sheets. similarly if the striker is presented many opportunities from those around him, he will inevitably score many goals.

I see you bring up the world class banner. Joe was never the complete keeper and therefore could not be classed WC (simply my opinion). He had too many poor traits that make up a Keepers armoury. 1v1s and shot stopping, no arguments, but everything else -no.

what are people thinking by putting a keeper in a weaker team and you will see ???? if you put aguero in the fulham team he would not score the goals he has at man city, ITS A TEAM SPORT FOR GOD SAKE ??? you need the right setup and players helping each other even keepers behind a defence

joe hart was world class and 4 golden gloves was won by him, you think in all them games when he kept clean sheets was against weaker teams ??? he made some outstanding saves to win games for city and winning the league by goal difference over united was down to him as well so please don't forget that

Im not dissing Joe, and yes he played his part in our early successes no one would argue that. I do think many though could see he had several weaknesses. Again, Golden Gloves are won by the team, its just a nice touch to give the keeper praise they would not normally get

I simply dont rate him as much as some do.

Your second para seems to contradict your first though if I am reading it correctly

what am saying is to be world class you have to play in the best teams or play at united or liverpool ??? so manchester city be top dogs in england joe was a great great keeper, yes it helps if your back 4 in front of you is good, but that is also down to your keeper with control and placement when it comes to corners free kicks and stop stopping

the team of the decade you must start with joe in goal, yes ederson will over take joe in the next 10 years with being a special keeper and a different style the game now needs, but for the foundation of what we are today joe hart is the only pick for me and its to early for ederson to take the spot ??

We will never agree so will leave it there

As people have said, different keeper for different styles of team play. Eddy doesnt gets as exposed as Harty used to, so doesnt have as many saves to make. Eddy is involved as another defender when we have the ball around the area, Harty wouldnt have been able to do this. Put Eddy in Cardiff's team and i dont see a big difference, but he works for us. Harty saved Burnley quite often but wouldnt work now for us. Pep is astute enough to know that its not about who is the best, but who is the best for our style.
Answer though, Harty for now. At his peak for 3-4 years at just the right time for us.

Correct, you win both with the team supporting you.

Other than shot stopping & 1v1, what exactly was Joe good at ?

For me:

command of the box was weak
Catching was non existent
Flapping / wafting, I'll grant you
Distribution - appalling
Ball skills at his feet - none
Lol,no wonder you went into bat for juliet so hard, you could have saved several months of posts if you just said this is what you think of joe to start with

My apologies

We have seen some amazing saves from joe hart. Spurs away, when I thought I was watching joe corrigan , all over again.

But Ederson is something else, if pep left and could take a player with him, it would be him.
