I can see the logic of keeping a good header of the ball on the park but why not just a straight swap of Balotelli for Dzeko? Balo is decent enough in the air, he covers that near post area pretty well at defensive set-pieces.

Hahahahaha Mario decent in the air?

Go look at how many headers Mario has scored this year and last year COMBINED. I'll give you the answer 1.

Compare that to 7 that Edin has in the last two years.

Just saying...

That mindblowing heading ability helped him today didn't it...

Was he genuinely defending at the wrong fucking end today?

Watch him at defensive set-pieces, that was the point I was making.

We have 4 great strikers but still dont have a good partnership between them. Tevez never passes to Dzeko or Agüero and so on...

Another teams have 2 strikers but they can make it work as not their two strikers are the strength individually but their partnership.

For us it is only the individual strength is there, no partnership at all.

Constant tinkering should stop, one of them should leave in January as we cant give them enough playing time and the rotation wont get the best out of them.

Keeping these 4 strikers will mean constant rotation between them as you cant leave any of them on the bench for 4-5 consecutive games. And we cant get the best out of anyone.

We cant hope they will turn into their form of their life if they play one match sits on the bench next match and everytime they play they have a different partner.

Spot on, imo we should have a obvious number 1 striker(Aguero) and a number 4 striker(this could be someone young with potenial such as Gudetti or Lukaku or a washed up has-been who'll only play Carling Cup games but help with the other 3 strikers get even better such as Del Piero.) the other 2 strikers should fit the system like a glove, in my ideal world Tevez and Jovetic.

This constant changing the strikers for every game is daft, Aguero's best form was when he knew he would play up front with Forlan.

I think having 4 top line established strikers might be causing us a problem too. They all obviously want to start, so we constantly have unhappy players somewhere upfront. As you say none of them get enough game time to gain top form or form a partnership. Balotelli scored the other night and got dropped, same with Aguero previously. Gudetti should be 4th choice or an alternative young player, with one leaving...

Re: Edin Dzeko legend

I'm fucking sick to death of him now. I don't want any stats saying how great he is. I don't want any anecdotes of what a nice guy he is. I don't want any analysis of our other strikers / Mancini / our style of play. I don't want any obsessive fan boys tonguing his arse. I just want him to leave.

I've had enough. I've been saying he's shite since his second game for us, and I've seen very little in the two years since to change my mind. When he starts he is overwhelmingly consistently awful, and the team is consistently not as good when he's in it. He's had too many chances now, it's not a knee jerk, I'm not scapegoating him, he's just wank.

I genuinely hope he never starts a game for the club again, he's just not good enough. Good luck to him for the future, I wish him every success and happiness, but please leave because he is holding the team back.

If you can point me in the direction of the post/s that blame Dzeko for the team not winning I would greatly appreciate it.

Because I hear of them all the time, but I've never seen them.

Weird.

Literally two posts above yours, the guy says Dzeko is holding the whole team back. Dzeko with less than 500 minutes of time on the pitch is why the whole team underperforms according to him.

-- Sun Dec 02, 2012 8:50 am --

We get it, you don't like Dzeko, as if that was ever in doubt.
