Haven't been on here for a while, how is this war waging on then? Any signs of a winning camp yet?

A few pincer movements yesterday from the Dzeko front line to suss the enemy, but I expect a full on blitzkrieg attack and victory for Dzeko after christmas..

From what we have seen in pre season and from his own comments, I expect a much improved season from Dzeko. He definitely has the ability, if he can display it consistently then along with Aguero, Jovetic and Negredo with Guidetti coming back to full fitness, we are going to be struggling to decide who to play.

The Dzeko we saw on youtube for Bosnia and Wolfsburg was always different from the one we see at City,Pellegrini has seen this and has allowed Edin to play how he prefers to play..
Dzeko coming good was just a matter of time, and we are all starting to see the
early signs..
His volleys arent half bad either! You are correct though. We dont neccesarily have to build the team around him either, just adapt the play slightly, which Pellers has done.
Negredo and Jovetic are also perfect striker partners, both offering something different. Jovetic with skill, pace, creativity and pinash and Negredo with, height, power and a cracking left foot as well as an incredible long pass for a striker. Put Aguero into the mix as well and now we are talking.

I am far from a Dzeko hater and have supported him numerous times on this board, but in the interests of fairness, you can't just "throw in Aguero" and act like we haven't seen that partnership struggle in the past. Striker partnerships can be a funny thing, some that should work don't, and some that shouldn't work do. I am ecstatic at how well Edin is performing during this pre season, but it's unfortunate that Aguero has been out. As I said a few pages ago, I think the subtle style changes really help Dzeko, but it sure would be nice to see him and Aguero actually partner well a few times before I'm willing to forget all that I've seen of the two together up to this point.

Which is sort of why we're all so full of shit on this board and even directors of football and managers are to some extent full of it as well. Team chemistry is a weird sort of alchemy that nobody can profess to be sure of. In some sports, it doesn't matter as much, but in football, and especially if you're going to pair strikers, it's so imperative.

How can a TRUE City fan wish for failure of a City player?
Those who wish that Dzeko performs poorly, prefer their own egos over City's wellbeing. Dzeko is doing great and that is a great news! And every City fan should feel happy about that. The same level of support should exist for all City players.

Those who wish for Dzeko to fail, should simply stop lying to themselves that they support MCFC. They should come out of closet and admit that to them at least, some other football club is more important.

Who has posted that they hope he fails?
He is not referring to you. The one that refers to you is one above yours. The one about potato.
I like potatoes

If he comes on, he'll score and this thread will break 500 pages by morning.

Shows i was right again - I always said Dzeko was a World Class striker - its just that he was playing for a manager neither he nor I rated and didn't play to his strengths. Now he has a supply route, the difference is chalk and cheese.

He still misses too many sitters. It wouldn't be too bad if he was a victim of great goalkeeping but a lot of the time it appears he's just fecked it up.

If you're looking for the missed sitter awards Aguero is a strong front runner.

He won't notice it unless it's Dzeko, I'm sure those sitters missed by Negredo weren't caught by him either.

Negredo wasted a few good chances, doesn't mean he's shit. Even Messi and Ronaldo miss opportunities now and again.
