have a look at 'The List' eating and drinking website .. its our version of Time Out for all things foodie
for a Friday at 8pl its worth booking somewhere
your hotel is right on the Royal Mile so there are loads of places around but the Holyrood Bar would be good for your Friday afternoon.
Arthurs Seat or Carlton Hill would be good for your Sunday walk as the botanics is a bit further away

cheers fella, been when im younger, but different now haha

try expedia or Travelodge website not so young lad lol

Me and the Mrs stayed in Leith and caught a bus into the City. The fringe festival was on when we visited, so lots of street performers there and the castle was all set up for the military tattoo.

Rose street great for bars,Princess street for shopping, the castle has great views of the City and theirs a lovely Thai restaurant opposite it.I was quite surprised what a lovely old city Edinburgh is.Not what i was expecting at all.

I know its cheesy but deffo take an open top bus tour, weather permitting, good way to get your bearings

I will be in town on Friday the 5th November as am going to Sharon Jones so if you fancy a quck beer about 6ish give me a shout

Going for 3 days during half term with wife and 2 boys aged 10 and 14. Any tips to keep the lads entertained would be appreciated.
Think we will do The Castle and Camers Obscura as suggested earlier in thread but any other ideas welcome.

Cheers Jambo. Laser quest and rock climbing sound good. May avoid the pool and snooker halls though my 10 and 14 year olds stopped frequenting them when the fag ban came in ;-)
