Because they're mainly white, middle class sociology type students who undoubtedly live in all white neighbourhoods in relatively crime-free rural regions where the odd school-on-school fight is the closest thing they'll ever experience to gang war. They know of immigrants because the Polish plumber fixed their tap, shop at an Indian pharmacist, eat at the local Chinese, and they hang out with a middle class bi-racial guy who listens to rap. Because the EDL isn't about the defence they allege. Initially, so they claim, they were set up to counter-protest Islamofascists which if it were true I suspect Islamofascists would a hammering and the EDL lauded as heroes, but instead they go on their own rallies with the intention of provoking trouble in predominantly Muslim communities. It's clear to see what it is. A national grouping of football hooligans, probably the ones who've already lost their passports, looking for a fight but cloaking themselves in a political agenda to take advantage of the certain protections protests are afforded in a democracy to get away with more violence than they could ordinarily get away with.

Bit disappointed in you Rick to be honest, you didn't strike me as that sort of person who'd get sucked into this type of thought process, 'oh nobody wants to say anything against Asians [as indeed they shouldn't - Asians are quite a diverse grouping believe it or not, as are Muslims], in case they get labelled as racists'. To be fair I have never witnessed ex pat British citizens in a foreign country create no go zones and have marches saying they hope the countries soldiers die and burn in hell whilst often spounging off the state, have you? The people from the EDL are no angels don't get me wrong, but Muslims who go preaching hatred onto the streets of our country are far worse. Think most people in this thread have said Islamofascists are as bad, far worse in my view in an ideological sense, as the EDL but the EDL are the ones holding rallies to provoke people now which rightly makes people see they are the ones are fault. If it was purely a counter-protest movement I think you'd see a different opinion. As it would if they used different means to achieve their supposed objectives. However, like I said, it's just a bunch of football hooligans looking for a fight using democratic protections. So they are scum. It isn't double standards Rick. What you must realise is that unfortunately most of these Islamofascists are British. We can't ban them as we can't ban the EDL, unfortunately again, they tend to be British. Where are these 'no go' zones? How do you know they're 'spionging off the state'.
I know four lads going with the edl and every fuckin one of em lives off the social and has done for years. They sit in the pub all day, every day, drinking your tax money. That's when they're not inside for robbing and deception.

As for being in another country and foisting English beliefs on others through force, a quick look at a history book will show you we've been doing it for centuries, and still are.

Imagine the Pakistani army (our allies in the fight against al qaeda incidentally) invading England and killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians. I'm sure you'd have your felt tips out straight away.
