I do however give a shit about a waning atmosphere and an increasing number of empty seats during the most successful period in our history because it directly affects my enjoyment and potentially the result.

really? really?

how sad....

Yes, it's pathetic that I enjoy sitting in a stadium with a good atmosphere.

What we should do instead is go the whole hog and get little theatre ushers and guys carrying around popcorn, because God knows it's "sad" to enjoy atmosphere now.

I find it totally sad that people think football clubs are a customer experience where they have no responsibility in anything that goes on apart from to pay their money and sit there watching a game like they're at the Odeon. I find it totally sad that people have no problem with somebody buying a season ticket in the ground and not turning up for 19 matches. I think its totally sad that a poster on here said before that he likes the atmosphere at the ground. I think its totally sad that everybody has a "what about meeeeeeeeeee" attitude to these things instead of "what is best for the club and team?" attitude. I think its totally sad that we've converted one whole side of the ground into a funfair, the outside into a travelling sideshow and half time into a BBC light entertainment special. I think it's totally sad that England is now the laughing stock the world in terms of how they treat their fans and like people with Stockholm Syndrome, a bunch of them suggest that what we need is MORE corporatism and LESS responsibility for fans. I think it's totally sad that people are measuring their "loyalty" to the club by how much money they have put into it for a seasoncard. I think it's totally sad that on a football forum dedicated to the more hardcore of City's support, we have a bunch of people OUTRAGED that something that is roundly good for the club should be a controversial topic because it happens to, potentially, maybe, at some unknown point in the future, possibly, could be affecting them for 10 or 20 loyalty points if it were ever to be brought in.

I think it's totally sad how self entitled some of our fanbase is and think that throwing some money at the club means they're now devoid of any responsibility for the atmosphere, because like every other problem in the world it's somebody else's issue to deal with and its all fine as long as nobody could possibly put them out even the slightest.

I fear that Premier League football is no longer for you. I'd just pick and choose my games in future.

I only go to the 'big' games. It's not that I can't be arsed going to other games, but any Saturday game is out for me. Sometimes I sell my tickets on, sometimes I have no takers.

Questions for those of you that are the blue seat spotting brigade.....why do you give a fuck? I take it you never went to Maine Road in the 80's? Think I saw Maine Road full maybe 3 times in that period, once vs the red shite, once vs candlepool in the Q final of a cup the other vs Charton. All circa 50k. The rest of the 80's we were lucky to get 25-30k for a game, so half the stadium was empty most games. Nobody gave a fuck then, so no idea why anybody gives a fuck now.
its a good point , I also remember how much room I suddenly had with ten minutes to go in the kippax as I always stay till the end
,38 thousand average in a 60 plus stadium was the highest in our history at main rd that's a lot of empty spaces especialy in the not so glam matches ,we have got to stop beating our selfs up over this ,I think we have the 12th highest att in Europe, next year it will be top 10,
granted a lot of the time we could be louder , but even that issue is no different then its always been, anyway arsenal after sw,if we play well and win the ground will be rocking

I look forward to you changing your username to I'm Alright Jack!

I wouldnt give the steam off my piss to somebody who would rather leave a seat empty than give a soldier on leave the chance of seeing a game!

Fuck off you tool. Where do I even mention the armed forces? You know jack shit about my feelings for our troops, and how dare you piously bring them into a debate about season card holders missing games, you absolute cock
Your losing it now so I'll leave it at that. I wasn't being specific to your post but the one that preceded you where somebody said they would welcome any spares for forces etc. it didn't stop you laying into people who don't share your view

Have a good weekend!

Ha ha, I'm losing it?! That was one of the cheapest, most snide posts I've ever seen on this forum, and even now your shamefacedly trying to prevaricate about your intentions. Have a good weekend my arse. Go fuck yourself

I enjoyed the bit about the need for shame when not passing my ticket on, on the odd occasion I can't get to a game. It's the same sanctimonious mindset as those people who berated Skeikh Mansour for spending half a billion dollars on City, when the money could have been used to build hospitals and orphanages

I look forward to you changing your username to I'm Alright Jack!

Laugh at it, fella.

It's classic moral high grounding: The English disease. Everyone's at it. Usually it involves children but these clowns have managed to adopt poor wounded heroic soldiers as their instant do-not-pass-go passport to the moral high ground. Earlier in the thread it was these fans clamouring to attend games who can't get tickets.

Truth is it is nothing to do with soldiers or sick children. It bugs them to see empty seats and they don't like the pisstaking. Nothing wrong with that, but at least let's have a bit of honesty.

"Shame". PMSL. It's always "shame".

Reflecting on the empty seat scenario, wondered perhaps if there could be some scope to allocate some seats to children from some of the deprived schools for some games at least occasionally

Correction you've lost it! Yes I should have put my post in the right context (that was my mistake) and I wasn't being specific to your post. I even deleted mine so I think you need to grow up.

Exeter blue should be made to pay for one of those seats every time he misses a game, and should be forced to march around the stadium with a placard saying "shame on me" whilst the waif drags their emaciated body to his seat.

I'm laughing too DD. If you dish it out you have to take it so its all good on that score. I'm not sure I've exhausted Exeter's full name calling repertoire though lol!

I find this obsession with the rags laughable and I couldn't give a toss about them and empty seat jibes.

I do of ours like seeing them lose and
Sometimes draw!

Games sold out but lots of empty seats.

These are the reasons why.

Problem 1: Club staff and certain youth players/families get complimentary tickets. These tickets are mostly based in tier one of the family stand and often aren't used since the beneficiaries are not all City fans. This means lots of empty seats behind the goal.

Fix 1: Put all complimentary tickets in the new third tiers. Have staff/youth/families have to apply for the tickets, so that they are only activated if they will make the game.

Problem 2: Viagogo get a batch of tickets to go with their ticket exchange deal. These tickets don't get sold as many fans refuse to pay the extra costs unless it is a big game.

Fix 2: End the Viagogo deal and have an in house ticket exchange site. More fans will use it to buy and sell. The batch originally given to viagogo can then be sold through the club.

Problem 3: Many complimentary tickets are given to our large number (& growing) of sponsors. These often don't get used unless the games are big.

Fix 3: Similar to fix 1, put these tickets in the new third tiers. This is what they do at Utd. Nobody notices if they don't get used.

Problem 4: Some season ticket holders can't/dont attend every game.

Fix 4: That's life. Make it easier for them to sell their ticket for the day with an official easy to use ticket exchange.
