Such is my indifference to the current England team right now I had to check on Blue Moon to see what the score was.

I assume it was the same old Southgate tactic: 85% of on-field play was between our defence and our midfield? Where occasionally the keeper hoofs a long ball up the field to make sure Kane(pen) is awake?

I know we're spoiled watching Pep's magic on our boys in every game (well, maybe not 'every' game!), but the downgrade from open attacking football to that dour, insipid, totally uninspiring stodge that Southgate serves up for us is a step too far.

If this is the way my national team wishes to play then I'd rather watch the grass on my front lawn grow - and it grows a lot quicker than Slabhead can move.

Resting on his Euro progress getting to the final.

We have looked clueless against any half decent opposition since then. With all the players to choose from there has to be a better output than there is currently.

Bellingham is nothing like Henderson or Rice. He was class against City when he played as the furthest forward in a 3.

You can't have him as one of the 2 that needs to sit, it leaves too much space in behind and unfortunately England can't play with 1 defensive midfielder because nobody is good enough to do it.

Henderson and Rice protect the centre backs and the rest go and play football.

Foden hasn't played in a midfield 3 since he was 17, he's 22 now. Could he do it? Probably. Do you trial it in a World Cup? Probably not.

If he does play him central then it's Foden or Bellingham, not both.
Those Iranians can be deadly. Best to play it negative hope for a lucky draw or 3 then claim it was a good tournament when the inevitable giants of Croatia or the like knock us out.

Tis the dream.

With managers like Pep in the prem, 99 percent of our squad plying their trade in the prem, you’d think the daft **** would want to play a similar style to what they’re used to playing week in week out. I think most of our teams in the prem try to play attractive football even if some aren’t the best at it.

Don’t get me started on the back five to protect slabhead. Why does Kane play every meaningless game? Why does he play right wingers at left wing back? Why does he not put any creativity in the centre of the park more often than not? Why does he call up players not to use them?

Guys a clown, like many have said we missed a trick not trying for Potter
