Yes, I think that's true. I can't imagine for one second that such a debate would happen in Spain, Italy, France or Germany. But maybe that's something positive? You can certainly spin it like that.

Well as much as I'd like to think we have some inherent sense of fair play others don't, I think it's more led by the anti Sterling/City brigade who never waste a second having a dig at the lad. That includes some so called City fans on here

Only this! (Mancini style).

Also, I've noticed that online it seems everyone, outside of England fans, wants England to fail.

"They are arrogant, with their it's coming home chant" - Self depreciating humour bypass.

"They are just lucky" - and Denmark weren't to get to the semi's with a corner that shouldn't have been? To go ahead in the same game with a second freekick that shouldn't have been? Italy have had their dubious calls too, in earlier games. But it's England they make a fuss about. Are we seen as the Liverpool of international football, no wait Spurs, due to the lack of trophies?

This may not be a popular opinion but I think some of the England fans who echo the above are displaying examples of sycophancy. Always overly concerned with gaining approval from the outside and putting themselves on a higher pedestal than everyone else in the process. City fans seem to do this too, defend the indefensible decisions that go against us. "Ah but Ederson did headbutt Mané's boot though, never a sending off that"... "Hi istry-club friends, I'm a City fan but I'm one of the cool ones. Please validate me."

It’s because we make a bigger fuss when I hints don’t go our way such as hand of god and franks. Non goal . Can you imagine for one moment without being biased what would be happening if that penalty would have given to the Danes with Pickford having light put into his eyes . What’s happened as happened but we are just as bad as the rest of Europe .

Yes we have our share of these fans. I also think England's past hooligan history makes a lot a bit ashamed to admit supporting them. Also other nations national pride in their country is seen as something to be applauded, whereas to show national pride supporting England is somehow portrayed as a racist thing. It's very odd. I also don't get the arrogance angle from a country that hasn't won a bloody egg cup in 55 years lol.

That's a bit selective. Did you see what I said about Denmark and Italy? Did the rest of Europe rally around those calls being wrong as they seem to be doing for the one generous decision England have benefited from?

Denmark crying foul I can understand, it's expected really but we can remind them about their first goal and dubious call they benefited from on the route to the semi.

Not sure the light went in Kasper's eyes and he saved the penalty anyway. He even tried to catch it, which says he wasn't impaired in the slightest, he was overconfident that he would be able to gather the ball in if anything. I wouldn't have grumbled at a retake and would have favoured him to put it away properly on the second attempt.

Besides the way our side of the draw panned out, we are no less deserving of being in the final than Italy. That's just a fact.

The point I’m saying is both them things happened to us it would be all over the papers and front page news fella because if you knocking in abit like me and remember the he hand of god and even beckham being sent of in France against the argies then you know what happens . England deserved to win the game and no one is questioning that but we have to accept that the main decision went our way .

Everyone is accepting we got a soft pen in the main. There are football fans from other countries and even English fans suggesting England don't deserve to be in the final or are just there on pure luck. What I'm saying is, Italy have had at least as many fortunate breaks from refs on their route to the final. Without repeating myself too much Denmark had more than England have in the tournament. So why is it a bigger deal when England get a generous call?

For what it's worth I agree, England would go mental if that call got given against them, especially in the context of being ontop for the last 40mins of the game or more and ontop of the freekick goal that shouldn't have been earlier in the game. It wouldn't surprise me if the papers in Denmark reflect that. The fans in the rest of Europe wouldn't spend too much time on it though if it were England on the receiving end(did they for Lampard's goal being denied? Didn't seem like it). There'd be the same England fans who are saying Sterling dived(no he didn't even if it wasn't a pen), dismissing it on basis that England should have put the game to bed(the usual catchphrases) or if Denmark had played like England did, that the better team won "don't complain about the ref when the other team was better, they'd have beat us anyway"(like clockwork those types).

I guess my point is, I'm fairly certain that if Italy had got the same call, the rest of Europe wouldn't begrudge them being in the final because they were the better team and shouldn't have been behind in the game anyway(so might well have won in normal time). England aren't liked elsewhere(maybe some of it is deserved) and there do seem to be double standards(never any justification for that), so England fans should take the criticism from elsewhere with a pinch of salt, instead of joining the pile on to knock the England players down.

England deserve to be in the final and have played some really good football so to say it’s luck is bollox but I would say this tournament set up playing all over Europe has definitely benefited certain countries such as England Italy and even Denmark who played all three of there games at home but others such as Wales and Belgium got shafted by having to play all over Europe which you must admit wasn’t fair and if should have been played in one country . As for raheem sterling I think he has been the best player in the euros .

Stirling best in Euros.
Has to be a headline there after Brexit.
