City is actually a bad place for a young talent sadly enough. So is Madrid, Bayern and most other big clubs. The best clubs for young talent are Dortmund, Leipzig, Lyon, Ajax and the like. CL teams who play youth.

Add Arsenal & United to the list.

City is perfect for the education of young players. Where we are poor is the next level. The facilities, the schooling, the football schooling, the group competitiveness, the big players to learn off, the blend of cultures (footballing and people), etc is like going to Oxford or the like. We just haven't worked out the transition to 1st team methodology yet. Forden has worked (but he's a blue and had patience)
Denayer was so promising at celtic but went tits up after that.
Roberts had 1 great season at celtic like Jason but then wanted a 2nd and went tips up.
Diaz couldn't resist call of Madrid but had gametime.
Marcos Lopez wanted 1st team

We are still learning the right methods for the right personalities as there isn't a simple 1 route fits all answers.

Other clubs can risk 10/15 points a season playing more kids. We, unfortunately can't. Yet we could give more time when 3 goals up (this annoys me the most). But honestly apart from sancho we haven't really made a huge loss with talent, but we could easily have got more money if our kids had more experience when sold. Maffeo, gunn, dilroson, matondo, frimpong, etc all could easily be worth double what we got with a season or 2 of 20/30 mins at end of games, more Cup games, most could easily of played in weak champs league/dead rubber matches and cups. But hey ho, hopefully we are learning.

Raiola is his agent so that makes us unlikely to sign him.

Balotelli is the ONLY major Raiola client we have signed. That was 10 years ago

the club clearly are avoiding him.

Plus he held extensive talks with Solskjaer in January; allegedly the only obstacle to the transfer being Raiola’s insistence on a £60m buyout clause, and United preferring to be the ones to activate it at a later date rather than be the victims of it. Factor in Pogba rediscovering his ‘passion’ for the club and probably signing a new contract after realising the likes of Real, Barca and Juve won’t/can’t pay the fee for him will likely see Mino push Haaland there within 18 months, with a view to pimping him to Madrid a couple of years later.

The Tevez and Toure tantrums seemingly made the board wary of accommodating players with seedy advisors - the Sane situation will only reaffirm the determination to have the right kind of characters at the club.
