We did see some some slightly concerning incidents last night. Prior to the game, immediately after the coach arrival, there were loads of, what looked like, Real fans climbing up the lower wire mesh fencing of the spiral ramps and climbing in to the stadium to avoid paying. We reported it to the police who seemed disinterested other than saying they'd seen others do it and that they'd inform the club.
There were literally thousands and thousands of day trippers there. If you want to pretend otherwise, crack onHALF THE GROUND!! Do be serious. The ground was mainly full of City fans. Gross exaggeration.
All big clubs have “new” fans or we’d be needing hospital beds. Many New fans become long term fans - got to start somewhere
I’m going to copy what ‘uwerosler’ posted earlier, which explains it perfectly.
No criteria for a ticket, only a membership with no requirement of going to a previous game, anyone could literally buy one 5 mins before buying a ticket, it was pot luck on if you got a ticket or not.
There are lots of examples of long standing blues unable to get tickets on here and elsewhere.
There has been an on going discussion about if for weeks and it’s been discussed on various podcasts as well. As I said the atmosphere is a separate point, which I thought was great. I’m not criticising the tourists/ people who got the tickets I’m criticising the clubs ticket policy… I’m not sure how you can defend that
The atmosphere was brilliant.
No. I’ll let you crack on. There are bound to be different fans at cup games. They’re not all tourists - they’re just new fans. Get over it. Some travel from as far away as Exeter :)There were literally thousands and thousands of day trippers there. If you want to pretend otherwise, crack on
Didn’t realise you were a Real supporter. How did you get a ticket? There were loads of you.Well, real supporters like me, have been to many away games & quietly sat in the away end. Anything to get a ticket to watch your team. It happens mate, & even our saintly old fans have done it.
Talking bollocks.watch the game back mate
for at least 2 of the goals BT cut to the crowd and nobody is celebrating especially the last one.
don't get caught up in this amazing atmosphere crap
I'd just like to add that some of those "fringe" fans have had season tickets in the past when were shit (pre take over) and during the early years of our current ownership. Probably held those STs for longer than some current holders. Life changes, job moves have meant giving them up.
Hopefully those who want to can move out of that "fringe" bracket with the new NS development etc.
Champions League nights for atmosphere have long since surpassed the atmosphere for league games, although I’m sure Sunday won’t be too bad!
Ooops. You losing the argument? I’m talking about when I had to go to Huddersfield in their end; Sheffield; Villa. And pal - I’ve been to more City games than you can count. But your right in one way - I am a real supporter ( just not one with capital R - if you understand that)Didn’t realise you were a Real supporter. How did you get a ticket? There were loads of you.
Quite a lot of us in that category.I'd just like to add that some of those "fringe" fans have had season tickets in the past when were shit (pre take over) and during the early years of our current ownership. Why not just be in the cup scheme? I appreciated it can be a financial decision for some but not the lads i go with who dip out because they cant be bothered with the league stages. Cant then moan that its a hassle getting a ticket for one of the biggest games in the clubs history.Every SC holder had the option of buying a ticket before Cityzens anyway. The problem was there were probably 12-15000 tickets that were up for grabs by anyone at all of which probably half went to literally anybody. Even having just one points criteria for those tickets would have made all the difference. There’s no excuse.
That's like watching MOTD midweek when we've just beaten Nobody 6-0, and scored 3 times in the last 10 minutes, then saying City play in the Emptihad as you see the lower family stand half full, so it must be representative of the whole stadium.watch the game back mate

I know. I was joking.Ooops. You losing the argument? I’m talking about when I had to go to Huddersfield in their end; Sheffield; Villa. And pal - I’ve been to more City games than you can count. the tension and excitment in game had gone by time alvarez scored what do you want false celebrations oh and long after game had finished tourists or not people actually stayed and sang and clapped the team the amount of times the stadium is empty at full time is poor i say more of itwatch the game back mate

I’m in the cup scheme, and SC holders not in it weren’t disadvantaged last night as they had a two day window before the general sale. There are thousands of Cityzens matchday members that were disadvantaged though, including loads that have been trying to get a SC for quite a while and who go to loads of games. I’ve said it before but maybe the cup scheme should be opened up to a limited number of Cityzens members who have a certain number of points. Why not just be in the cup scheme? I appreciated it can be a financial decision for some but not the lads i go with who dip out because they cant be bothered with the league stages. The group stages are the slog for the big games. Just like supporting city through years of shit was the slog for the current success
& we all stayed to the end all the family stand (who are sometimes criticised) clapped, cheered the players lots of singing way beyond full time whistle. That's like watching MOTD midweek when we've just beaten Nobody 6-0, and scored 3 times in the last 10 minutes, then saying City play in the Emptihad as you see the lower family stand half full, so it must be representative of the whole stadium.
I was there and it was a whole lot better than what BT will have you believe!
