Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Well I sit in ss3 and first thing my Mrs commented on when I got home (after strictly btw) was how my voice was hoarse.

Seems the old school get behind us in adversity comes out on games like today.

We get constant stick for atmosphere but shows it can be great at times.

Happiest been after a game this season today, including the Derby.

Had a big smile walking by all the cars sitting with engines on going nowhere in the main car parks.....each to their own and it's been done to death but a big smile nonetheless.

Me too, didn't realise until I was talking to Mrs Moon at home.

Wasn't expecting much from us in SS3 today, especially after the early goal.
 
As I said on here as soon as we went down to 10 men, I knew the atmosphere would be brilliant. On the very rare occasions there’s a bit of jeopardy we dig in and it feels like Maine Road.

Back in those days we felt like we were being dicked over on a regular basis, living in the Rags’ shadow, shite owners, so it was us against the world. It was conducive to a tinder box atmosphere (not every single game, I know) and yesterday was a proper throwback.

Be better if we just moved the singing section up there. Being under the roof makes a world of difference, have all the flags and banners hung over the edge. Would look Brill

Im at the back of 318 and its true what you say,Iv heard for years a group further along at the back that always try and get songs going,good on them.

Need to get SS3 packed with singers so it’s more intertwined with SS1 and not separated by the away fans. If those in kippax corner moved to SS3 we’d have pretty much one singular stand creating an atmosphere. Acoustics travel further from SS3

I quite like those songs but they aren’t home stadium songs.

Brilliant away day chants, great in the pubs and on trains planes and automobiles. But they’re the sort of chants that will never take off around big home stadiums.

Not once have I ever heard ‘Empty Seats At Home’ spread around the stadium but it’s like it’s become our main club anthem in the singing section. They’ve got a new one this season n’all with ‘We’ve Got The Best Football Team In The World’… the singing section sang it from the opening kick off for three minutes and then again on about the six minute mark for a minute… hardly anyone in the entire rest of the stadium joined in. And the atmosphere in general was poor in the first half.

As soon as the proper City chants got going second half the whole ground (not everybody in the ground but at least a few dozen even in the quietest blocks) were getting involved.

We’ve Got the Best Football Team in The World’… is the sort of chant that could defiantly travel around the stadium kind of new so maybe some might not know the words, Bernardo chant is the only player chant though that really carries around the stadium

That’s because it’s got a big anthemic ‘Beeernaaardoooooo, SILVA’.

Most people around the stadium only chant that bit and just clap along to the ‘running down the wing…’.
