Why have a sound filter when the job surely of the broadcaster is to bring the atmosphere to the people watching or listening at home ? I can understand why you might want to limit some of the high frequency noise but the difference between this and the ordinary broadcast is extreme.

Not sure what the debate is about really, Weds night was one of the best nights Ive had in a football stadium. Ground was a sea of noise and colour.

If you cannot find enjoyment in that and appreciate how exceptional it was, football is probably not for you as it will rarely get any better.
