Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Great post mate, a home is what you make it as the old saying goes, as well as the people inside it, I might be way off the mark but we did get a little comfortable, a bit content & passive. But we have a long proud history of never lying down, of raging against the machine, and those PL charges have galvanised the whole club, refocused minds, and reminded us to enjoy what we have now. I don’t mind any of the cheese, in fact we get more right than wrong, we’re always looking at ways to improve the match day experience, and I have no complaints whatsoever. The early leavers scenario is actually slowly getting worse (Wednesday apart) because people are competing for that first tram or bus, or to get out of the horrendous car parks, I’ve never known buses be loaded and effed off so slow in my whole life, why can’t people have seasonal passes like the metro ? Make the first few buses pass only, they’d then have a roundabout figure of how many buses are needed..Get on get gone, we could also do with a scheme for our elders & less abled, I don’t have any cost effective ideas for that, but you can’t blame some people for ‘needing’ to Leave early, this needs addressing

That bus situation does my head in. It's been £2 now for a single journey for a while yet it still takes idiots ages to sort their money out and pay. I'd make it contactless/pass only to speed things up. If not why can't they have a few employees selling tickets in the queue? Also there are about 30 stewards milling about but if 2 have a clue what they're doing you're lucky.

First chance to post since the game.

Couldn't take up our SC seats in SS1/116, they'd gone within 5 mins of the window opening (go figure), so snatched seats in 232, just below the TV studio. Had my doubts about the atmosphere in 232 but I have to say it was brilliant. Plenty of singers, plenty of hostility, seen a few guys from aways I don't normally see, plenty of shit given to ducklips and Spitty much to the hilarity of Micah (who's a true Blue despite some of the shit he gets on here)...great night, so take a bow Family Stand.

Heard SS1 clear as a bell all night, despite its detractors, loud as fuck.

Up there with the best, but Hamburg will always be top dog, for different reasons.

On to Chavski and up the fucking beautiful blues.

Yet lots of schools in Manchester don’t receive any tickets.

Why are on earth are school kids from wales getting tickets for one of our biggest games… 57 actual city fans could have attended the match
See it every CL game mate. Bus loads of school kids from Scotland parked up at the bottom of Joe Mercer Way.

Or we gained another 57 future supporters ? the club are doing so much to bring in the next generation of supporters now, fan zone etc etc, I don't see a problem with it myself, it worked on my lad, he spent some time at the academy we got offered loads of free tickets he's probably a blue for life now.

The highest rows of east and Colin bell level 3 have been given away for a lot of UCL games for a while now it nothing new.

You don’t see a problem with giving dozens of free tickets to school kids in wales who more than likely aren’t city fans, whilst not giving tickets to school kids who live in Manchester and probably are city fans?

Manchester have some of the highest levels of poverty in the country and lots of those kids would have loved to have been at the Madrid game

The club could have selected a list of 52 from youngsters who have supporters numbers, that would have taken a bit of effort mind.

The club want us global not local and this is a sure fire way to see it for what it is.

Pretty much. They don’t want the legacy fans or locals. Lots of school kids in Manchester would love free tickets, but no let’s randomly give them to kids in Scotland and wales. Trying to grow our fanbase, whilst at the same time trying alienate our core local fanbase. It makes no sense.

Once you lose the core support it won’t come back. And when pep leaves or we have a bad spell the club will be desperate to get them back.
