Etihad atmosphere

I think there must be a problem if Pep if lambasting our atmosphere, having managed at the Nou Camp, where you can literally hear a pin drop for most of the game. Whether it is the long standing 'acoustics' problem, the expectation or apathy, I'm not sure.

I think there are issues that while not responsible, don't help. Those being heavy handed stewarding in 'atmospheric' areas, infrastructure from getting away from the ground is terrible, adding to the early leaver problem, and finally, the seemingly constant shuffling of the stadium and its long-term fans in order to increase hospitality and match day spend.

Obviously the higher ups want big revenue to fund the club, and the management want atmosphere - we don't seem to be able to have both, but the club IMO has some big decisions to make regarding how it treats its fanbase, and who it wants filling up the stadium.

I can't help but think that some proper, sat down discussion could do with taking place between a fan-led board and the club itself.

Its same at every ground but like the Empty seat stick we get when we know its Bullshit the media and fans make a fucking massive meal out of nowt.
I sort of believe this... I am not sure there is a problem as much as the press report.
I heard our fans outsinging the anfield crowd, Utd fans outsang at theirs, tbh they have really made me proud, I guess that is away games but that carries through to at home even though we do deffo have tourists who are their to be entertained rather than take part

Very good post.

There's a laziness about a lot of supporters and ours are no different. Go in Mary D's before a game and it can be wild at times, the same on the concourse at half time home and away. Then people get back to their seats and it goes flat.

I was so much looking forward to Hull at the KC but after the initial 10-15 minutes, it was as quiet as fuck until we scored. The Hull fans - not renowned for being the most vocal - were shushing at one point because we hadn't sang for ages.

Add to this the seemingly insatiable rush to get through songs as quickly as possible together with a compete "too cool for school" attitude from a large section of our support and it makes for a shite atmosphere.

Send your feedback to: the1894group@yahoo co.uk - they can only take all the feedback from there. Cheers.

They are attending a fans forum "points of blue" next one 16 jan. Thry get responses from club.

Saw this on Twitter, didn't see it promoted on here so thought I'd help.

Now retired and living in North Wales I haven't been able to get to many games lately, but my take on this is that the vast majority of our fans at home games are probably just as nervous as f*ck and are waiting for the team to make their next big mistake ... When the team play well - as they should and as we all know they can - the crowd get up for it and respond accordingly...

Until they get the defense sorted, and we all aren't bricking it whenever the ball approaches our goal, I cant see this changing...

Thank God for the singing sections that always do their best - without them it would be like a tomb !!

But the same could be said for games at the likes of the Allianz and the Bernabau where teams come and stick 11 behind the ball regularly. Yet the fans are always loud enough and a large section sing throughout.

I agree with you to an extent, but we need to be creating atmosphere throughout...regardless of how the match is going.

The Bernabau is dead as a door nail mate..
