Etihad atmosphere

They fucked it up yesterday The sheets said hold up on the team entry and during PL music The announcer was premature, what followed was great, the display and then na na... City singing, suddenly they stop the music and started the right here right now which killed the singing. The team came out and only 50% held-up the sheets so the display looked crap. Thought the atmosphere in first half was terrific worse thing that happened was half time
I thought exactly the same, it's as if whoever is in charge has a set routine which they stick to no matter what. I suppose it is like a good DJ. who reads situations a reacts to it, maybe that's what we should do, employ Eyeball Paul.

Best atmosphere I can remember in CB L1 for quite a while in 1st half. Obviously went very flat in the 2nd half. First time I have seen anyone light a flare in our block too. Lets hope we can generate a similar atmosphere tomorrow and we can drown out the scousers. Looking forward to it!

its going to be hard as many people will still be feeling the united result, but we have got to try and recreate that first half again tomorrow. boo the liverpool players, sing all game and come back with no voice.
The team needs our support and I think it could play a big part tomorrow. Come on city !!!!

We just need an early goal, the longer it stays 0-0 the less enthusiastic the support will become.

I agree, but we need to be proactive swell. we can't just wait for a goal. we have to get behind them from the first minute. Theres no excuses anymore ( Noise wise) really, the other day proved what we are capable of. hopefully the team come out all guns blazing.

Agree completely. SSL3 was the best its been since the chelsea match the day it opened.

Lets hope we can replicate it on tuesday but it is strange why fans behave so differently at other matches.

it does my head in now tbh. we go on about the acoustics, stadium, type of football, but in reality all we need is for people to actually get up of their arse and sing. ( sounds simple ) the other day i think a lot of people actually remembered that they can do it and its not embarrassing to sing or hard to do. On our day we have one of the loudest crowds in england, but it just doesn't happen enough.

you always hear it from armchair fans, apparently we arent passionate. we have one of the most passionate/loudest fans in the league and people need to remember that.

The atmosphere was brilliant on Saturday, probably due to our loathing of the rags and the fact we were battering them and scored two goals. Other sections of the ground were joining in for once and not looking to or blaming the south stand and singing section. We all have a role to play and on Saturday we played it. I thought the display looked brilliant. Tomorrow we have to do the same and more to have half a chance. One thing I would add is their players have to get more shit when they are on the ball. Booing and the fans nearest the pitch have to really get into them, give it a snarling hatred so they crap it.

i thought that was really good the other day. as soon as they got on the ball we booed them and whistled. the last time i remember us really doing that at home was the derby when swp scored the 4th against them. we should do it tomorrow.

It was great but I do agree we had too many still in the bogs and concourse at the start of the second half. I nipped out for a slash just as the teams came out thinking it would be quiet and was shocked how many were still out there.

We can recreate that first half noise on Tuesday: and hopefully get an early goal. The east and Colin bell stands were getting involved and the size of the new south stand really showed how loud it can be if everyone is up for it.
However everyone needs to be back to their seats for early second half and keep the noise going cos it was significantly lower in that second half (no doubt cos we conceded 3 in about 15 mins) but if Liverpool score 1 and we’re 2-3 nill up the crowd needs to respond and keep pushing the boys forward.
GET 2 BEFORE HALF TIME AND WE CAN DO THIS

Many went to the concourse 10 minutes before half time, as they thought the game was won, then they stayed for another pint, and it was probably about 2/3 full when united scored around me.

No game is ever over at 2-0.

I agree there were people just standing there with pints chatting and in the bogs smoking and chilling out. I don't think it made a great difference to be honest. I got back to see the rags swarming all over us, I was shocked seen as they couldn't get near the ball in the first half.

Loving the irony in this post.

I don't think it did either, but its sad that people can't be back in time for kick off, we had a warning in the first minute, perhaps had everyone been back in their seats the atmosphere might have got going straight away, there were about 3 rows behind me with hardly anyone there, and by the time they'd all come back it was 2-1.

No irony at all. I deliberately waited so I could be quick.....hey we all have to go sometime! I am about 6 rows from the exit and if I didn't have to fight my way there and back through crowds of people I would have been back by the time they kicked off.

+1

Not convinced it was intentional, either?

Haha, @pass2silva evidently not!
