Space behind the stand

That is half the space there is between the stadium and the road now. On a matchday with a capacity crowd that will be a squeeze.

Best to just cancel the whole expansion and leave things as they are then.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

I better leave early then, don't want to be in all that crowd at end of the game

Can't see anything on extending the front row, mate.
Seriously? The very first paragraph :-
Manchester City Football Club have today announced Phase Two of the Etihad Stadium expansion, which will see a further three rows of seats built pitchside and take total capacity to more than 55,000.
or are we talking about different things?
Can't believe I missed that. Lets pretend this didn't happen.

Strange post.

It's not even close to the road. It only goes slightly further than the original main ground supports.

The changing of the design isn't an issue. You can't not build an extension because you don't want to ruin the original design.

Looking at the Video it goes back quite some bit, looks to be going back over half the existing space available there at the moment so when you consider how long them queues can get on night games, congestion / movement around the ground could be a small problem

It goes slightly past the two central supports so lots of room.

Looking at the picture above, if we assume the extension of the North Stand will be similar to the South Stand, will that not be building directly on to the area currently occupied by the stage at City Square? Another poster mentioned this earlier, I was wondering if anyone knew of what the plans were for City Sq if we do expand the North Stand.

Back in the original thread, and repeated since, I suggested that they would want to remove the 'kink' in Ashton Road where the stadium gets closest.

That would however mean that some existing properties would need to be removed, including some housing.

I would think that that would happen in due course.

The removal of the council properties near Mary D's would only happen once there was alternative housing stock to move people into (again I mentioned this on the original Las Vegas thread).

I wonder if there is any possibility of ADUG ever having any flats/houses in the area to move people into?

I attended a local residents meeting on Tuesday in the players lounge with Pete Bradshaw and Danny Wilson, they both said that the club had no interest in the Asda site whatsoever also I asked the question about the possible reroute of Ashton New Rd, his reply was that the club has no intention of disrupting the local neighbourhood.

Must admit I don't think they would say so if they had these plans

I'm sure they would be as honest as they could with local residents as the club do all they can to engage with the community.

But it could be argued that the club are not building houses over in New Islington either.

Very true, can only go off what they say! A little snippet though the bridge gets handed over to MCC in Monday

Another little step towards a very big future.

I think it should be handed over by a celebrity - maybe Roger Bannister?
