Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site

I'm hoping we see some more artist impressions of what the new South Stand will look like. I feel like we have no idea what the actual interior will be like in terms of turnstyles, space/walkways, food outlets, stairs/lifts etc. I also wouldn't mind seeing a clear impression of what the stand will look like from the outside. The pics so far all vary a little bit in terms on the outside of the stand and most of them are from distance as well.

The planning application is still available online. That will answer most or some of your questions.

I have blown up and screen grabbed a few of the CGI's for you. There is a wealth of information for you to look through.

There are also CGI's of the interior of the stand/stadium.

The first link below the CGI's is the Design and Access Statement that I took the CGI's from.

The second link is the full planning application itself.

Don't forget to enlarge the pages. Just press + or - at the bottom of each page as you scroll down.

Enjoy! :-)

Click each CGI twice to enlarge.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site

Cracking CGIs those and gives a great indication of what is to come. Very much a modern style to it similar to the Emirates. If and when the need arises for side stand expansion, the ground may become slightly more squared off but looks cracking and will transform the whole stadium with the colours and materials and move us away from the grey concrete look!

Interesting running through that DnA as well - I've not had a proper look through it before - what facade options do people favour? There are some really good ideas there and I like the option for recognising the historic moments in the clubs history on there and some of the lighting looks fantastic. Don't think we should be wrapping rivals colours round the ground though as with the Barca pic they choose to show! Exciting times!

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site

Does anyone know if we still have plans to generate our own power on the Etihad Campus? I know there have been suggestions in the past regarding the possibility of wind turbines. Are we even looking at solar power now? I'm sure there must be some fracking ideas.

People that have seen the 'very final' images of the stadium plans assure me its a thing of beauty and that it WILL happen.

Oh how I would like to cast my mincers over those images :-(

Fantastic. Makes sense as it's a relatively easy, cheap job in the big scheme of things and isn't really reliant on anything else being completed before.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site

Cheers Jrb.

I'm thinking they might use the big mesh section that runs all the way from left to right at the top of the stand, for removable displays not too unlike the ones we have now.

How about a huge mosaic of a panoramic view from behind that goal on a full house match day?
