Does anyone else reckon there will be news reports when the CFA opens? not just ssn but bbc and itv. This country has seen nothing like it before and we all know if a few other choice clubs had done it there would be. Scandalous if theres not.

When it's up and running the club will of course be inviting the press in. I'd be surprised if they don't hold some kind of event, to ensure it gets top publicity. And it will. It will be all over the media.

They'll wait until it's properly up and running to get the maximum impact.

It will be live from SKY throughout the course of the day.

I would like our owner to be there to officially open it. He deserves to see what his money has achieved.

Great pics, really good seeing the fast progess....would be great if the club would install a coupole of webcams so we could all watch the stadium steadily grow at our leisure. Surpised the club haven't done this, they are normally on the front foot in terms of communication and web presence.

Taken last night.

The quality isn't that good on some of the pictures.

Can't see the training academy being usable/part ready by the end of October.

However, progress is being made, and is visible, every time I do a picture update.

I wonder if there is any legal restriction on things like these quad opted drones flying over and taking pics from the air. You can buy all the kit necessary to take really good overhead video and stills for about £1000 and upwards but is there any legal restriction on actually using it?

That would be great. Regardless, Paddy Vieira will feature heavily. I'm sure all the big guns will be there, possibly in a week with no major matches.

The club have already used a drone like Helicam in the last week of September. I've seen some of the shots from above the stadium but the person who has taken the shots is not allowed to release them all yet. I'm guessing they will be released when the place officially opens

Definitely.
This is why I haven't shed any tears when the flyover pictures were stopped.
Wait until it's completely finished rather than giving the game away early. Some people want to shake, fondle and ultimately unwrap their xmas presents before the day itself :(

Yep. Vicky Kloss will have all this in hand. A major unveiling to the world's press will I'm sure be happening when the time is right. I don't know what you mean about the "flyover pictures",

Referring to those web aviation photographs...pretty sure they were asked to stop taking them of the academy (at least until it was complete?).

Along with Sky I hope the BBC are involved too (with BBC Sport based up here).
Could do with it being a clear day too, though I suspect we've used all the tokens up this summer...

Yeah i think you are right. I think the day its hits the media will be a tipping point for the media and average fan's opinion of City to change for the better, snide remarks will carry so little weight when even the most casual of fan can point to thee academy investment.

Standing aside from City for a moment the academy i think will also be seen in years to come as a benchmark for the England team, i really invisage a day in maybe 7-12 years when an England side has 7/8 players who came through th CFA with maybe 3/4 still with the club. Also its an absolute joke that when you think how much its cost us (130-200 mil keeps getting banded about) that non of the so called big 4 has done anything similar despite their monopoly of the money in the last 15 years, it shows them for the parasitic fat cats they are. I fucking love being a City fan.

Surely it would be live on BT Sport? ;-)

I don't think it's been posted for a while but this is the original CGI fly through of the academy which now looks very real indeed :-

I can see many deadline day transfer day skysport news reporters and man city fans at 12.00 pm standing and singing into the night in that view
